Ehren Kruger of the film The Brothers Grimm is trying to turn it into a TV show. Miramax’s Executive Vice President of Film & TV, Zanne Devine opened up about how his company was seeking out the possibility. However, they were surprised by his pitch to them like Ehren did. Zanne claims that the possible series written by Ehren and produced by Daniel Bobker, will feature many of the classic characters from the world of The Brothers Grimm. Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm will be the main stars of the show, while relying on their wonderful characters. Here is what we know so far about the possible series.
The original stories the Brothers set out to collect were not for the faint of heart and we’ll be making a show that gets back to those origins and their cautionary, scary, thrilling spirit.
It sounds like it will certainly be an interesting show!

Fairy tales on telly? Nah, no-one wants to watch that, surely? Because we don’t already have Once Upon A Time, Grimm, Beauty And The Beast... Miramax clearly sees there’s an appetite for them, and has pressed Brothers Grimm screenwriter Ehren Kruger to develop and TV series based on the Terry Gilliam film. Putting something into development now, ten years after the movie, doesn’t exactly feel like striking the iron while it’s hot. But with the aforementioned series and various fairy-tale movies helping fuel interest, it’s perhaps not that surprising. Kruger will use the movie as an origin story launch pad for ongoing tales of Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm, who discover the supernatural stakes behind the folklore. The casting search will kick off once the elements are in place.“We reached out to Ehren Kruger and producing partner Daniel Bobker to see if they had any...

Acclaimed commercials director Adam Berg is in talks to make his feature directorial debut on a remake of David Cronenberg's 1983 body horror meets media satire classic "Videodrome" at Universal Pictures says Deadline.
James Woods starred in the original about a cable TV programmer who tried to make his station relevant by programming 'Videodrome', a reality TV series that depicts torture and murder that transfixes viewers.
He soon uncovers a political conspiracy tied to a malicious broadcast signal within the show that causes disturbing hallucinations and brain tumours in an effort to ideologically "purge" North America.
The film recently made it onto the Sight and Sound Poll's Top 250 films of all time list and is famous for its catchphrase "Long Live the New Flesh".

David Cronenberg's Videodrome is a fascinating film and one I'm sure I'll go back to continuously to explore again and again, but where so many hold a special place for the film, I can't say I'm one of them. However, the idea of a studio remaking it doesn't exactly make much sense and the Ehren Kruger script Universal is reportedly handing over to first time feature director Adam Berg isn't exactly a new one. I first reported on Kruger's script back in 2009 when, at the time, I hadn't seen Videodrome. I've since seen it three times in the last three years, which is to say, yeah, it's one worth going back to, but hardly the first property you'd think of in terms of remakes. To begin, Videodrome found most of its followers after its 1983 theatrical release where it managed only $2.1 million. That's not a lot. Adjust that gross for...

Universal is moving forward with a remake of David Cronenberg’s cult classic Videodrome and is in talks with a director to take on the project. According to Deadline, commercials and music video director Adam Berg is Universal’s choice for the remake. Should he sign on, this will be Adam Berg’s first feature film.
The script was written by Ehren Kruger, who is producing the film with Daniel Bobker. If you’re not familiar with Ehren Kruger, you’re definitely familiar with his work, as he has written for the following films: Scream 3, The Ring, The Ring Two, The Skeleton Key, The Brothers Grimm, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
In terms of what we can expect from the new film, it won’t be a shot for shot remake or horror film. It sounds like they are going with something similar...

Looking back at the last time we did a story about the Videodrome remake Universal has on its plate, it's hard to believe it was over three years ago! Yes, things move slowly in Hollywood, but that's about to change because a director has been chosen.
Per Deadline celebrated commercials helmer Adam Berg is in talks to make his feature directing debut on Videodrome, a remake of the 1983 David Cronenberg-directed film that is set up at Universal Pictures. Ehren Kruger (The Ring, The Ring 2, Blood & Chocolate) scripted the remake and is producing with partner Daniel Bobker.
James Woods starred in the original film as the head of Civic TV Channel 83. He makes his station relevant by programming "Videodrome," a series that depicts torture and murder that transfixes viewers. When Kruger and Bobker set it up at Universal, they planned to modernize the concept, infusing it with the possibilities of nano-technology,...

Long live the new flesh eh? Deadline report that celebrated commercials director Adam Berg is in talks to helm a remake of the 1983 David Cronenberg-directed sci-fi flick for Universal Pictures. Ehren Kruger scripted the remake and is producing with partner Daniel Bobker. The original movie was a dark, disturbing tale about the head of a tv channel (James Woods) who tries to make his station relevant by programming Videodrome, a series that depicts sadistic scenes of torture and murder to transfix viewers. It was directed by David Cronenberg - who stirred up a bit of controversy here on Cbm recently - and has, like much of the director's work, a strong cult following. So this news probably won't sit too well with many fans, especially because Deadline also report that the plan is to "modernize the concept, infusing it with the possibilities of nano-technology and blow it up into...

Shulman most recently spent two months volunteering at an orphanage in Ethiopia after a stint as a member of the production and acquisitions group at Overture Films. Despite a terrible screenplay-filled career that doesn’t seem to be getting any better at this moment, Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Scream 4) had a big day for himself. First up, THR tells us that the scribe will work with Disney on their mountain climbing action movie, which was, at one point, based on their Matterhorn ride. Now, however, Kruger coming in to rewrite Jason Dean Hall‘s script has allowed the project’s scope to be “broadened” — thankfully, the proceedings are still “grounded in hardcore adventuring.”
Ever since debut director Brian Beletic signed on for the project in early January, we’ve known that the basic plot goes like so:
“A small group of young, super adventure/explorers, each with a specific skill set, are brought to the remote backcountry of the Pennine Alps under various guises for a trek across one of the planet’s remaining untouched realms.

Plot details are few, but variety is reporting that Sony Pictures has acquired a new script from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon writer Ehren Kruger. Titled Invertigo , the script was go-written with Bradley Cramp and will be produced by Neal Mortiz with Kruger and Daniel Bobker executive producing. Update: The Hollywood Reporter now has word that Kruger is also involved in Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming mountain adventure project , formerly known as The Hill . Announced last year , the film was to have been based on Disneyland's Matterhorn ride, though the trade notes that the scope has since been widened. Jason Dean Hall was formerly attached as the project's screenwriter and newcomer Brian Beletic is still slated to direct.
