While we never got to see Peter losing Uncle Ben in the MCU, which makes sense as it has been done to death in other iterations, No Way Home did leave fans teary-eyed with Aunt May’s demise. Although heartbreaking for sure, this could be regarded as this version of Peter’s canon event, as her death and Nwh‘s ending set the path for a more traditional Spider-Man story moving forward.
However, per new reports, it seems this wasn’t the last of Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May in the MCU, as Spider-Man 4 is reportedly planning to bring her back in some form.

Spider-Man 4 is one of Marvel Studios' most highly anticipated movies but, as we write this, it has no release date or even a confirmed director.
According to Jeff Sneider, Marvel and Sony Pictures are developing a new trilogy together, with the intention being for one director - or a directing duo - to work on all three instalments.
He says it's unclear whether shooting really will begin this fall because Kevin Feige is taking his time choosing a filmmaker and is fully in charge of the creative process. That bodes well for Spider-Man 4 after it was previously reported he might be a little more hands-off due to having so many other commitments in getting the MCU back on the right track.
We've already heard a few different names for the movie, but Sneider makes a point of saying that Feige was particularly impressed with Adil El Arbi and...

Marvel Studios being forced to split its attention between movies, streaming, and animation has resulted in the Multiverse Saga being a little messy. Now, they're making moves to fix that and we're expecting a big slate update to head our way later this summer.
As we write this, Avengers 5 is fast approaching and some lingering issues need to be addressed.
With Kevin Feige unable to give every movie and TV show his full attention, a handful of ideas have slipped through the cracks which haven't worked. In this feature, we're touching on some of the most noteworthy, explaining why they need to be fixed or undone as we head into the later stages of this Saga.

Spider-Man: Far From Home introduced audiences to Mysterio, one of Spider-Man’s most important and dastardly villains. Jake Gyllenhaal’s portrayal of the character had audiences believing that the character was genuinely heroic, even those who thought they knew how the character was in the comics. However, the film also introduced another important character into the MCU: Spider-Man’s very first antagonist from way back in The Amazing Spider-Man #1.

Half-brother to Kraven the Hunter, the character has had a long history with Spider-Man, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Dmitri was present in Spider-Man: Far From Home as a background character, appearing in several shots as a close associate of Nick Fury.

The Guardians of the Galaxy could’ve looked a little different.
In an upcoming episode of The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast, Joel Edgerton revealed that he auditioned for the role of Star-Lord, which eventually went to Chris Pratt, in James Gunn’s Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.

Although all three of the MCU Spider-Man movies have “home” in the title, Spidey didn’t feel like he really came home until the very end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. That’s when Peter Parker walked into a squalid New York City apartment, knit together a home-made suit, and remembered his late parent-figure’s words about power and responsibility. So why the heck is Marvel unsure about what to do next?
From the first stories by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee to the married father of two in Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto’s Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man is almost always a hard-luck hero, a guy who struggles to maintain his personal life, limited financial budget, and Spidey responsibilities. Having already starred in the biggest blockbuster of the year so far, Zendaya is once again set to take the spotlight at the box office with her upcoming sports drama, Challengers. With the film sitting in the high 90s at the Tomatometer as of writing, things are looking promising for the Luca Guadagnino-led romance, which made waves following the threeway kiss in its trailer.
Unsurprisingly, following the nature of the feature, the film has been rated R ahead of its US release, and the Far From Home star made sure to give her family a warning ahead of watching.

Kevin Feige was part of the infamous Marvel Creative Committee (McC) in the early stages of the MCU and played a crucial role in preventing the committee from ruining Captain America. According to reports, Feige and Louis D’Esposito vehemently opposed the committee’s idea to set the character in modern times. There were screaming matches during meetings of the McC, with Feige emerging successful and giving us the period piece, Captain America: The First Avenger.

Tom Holland rose to international recognition with his portrayal of Peter Parker, a.k.a., Spider-Man, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Captain America: Civil War. The audience’s perception of the actor has been solidified with his standalone movies, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. There is no doubt that he is indeed one of the finest young actors in the entertainment industry currently.
The English actor has also been a part of movies, including Uncharted, The Devil All the Time, and Cherry. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Holland’s performance and dedication to the Apple TV+ miniseries The Crowded Room was appreciated by the fans. The actor is now looking forward to returning to stage, performing one of the most beloved characters of William Shakespeare, and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a tough competition for its title.

One of the inversions that we see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the Marvel Universe is the relationship that Spider-Man develops with the Avengers. In the comics, Captain America is the Avenger Spider-Man develops a mentor-mentee relationship with, while the MCU shows use a Spider-Man who is more closely associated with Iron Man.

In Jon Watts' 2019 film "Spider-Man: Far from Home," Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is tempted to cede control of a newly-bequeathed orbital missile network to an alleged interdimensional traveler nicknamed Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). Mysterio mentions that he's a superhero from a parallel timeline and that Earth is only now starting to reach into other dimensions. Mysterio's story will later prove to be a lie, yet the notion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe multiverse was implanted in people's minds (building off its brief mention in "Doctor Strange").
That multiverse idea was then hammered home in the film's epilogue. After the day was saved and Mysterio was defeated, Spider-Man's secret identity was brazenly revealed on international TV by none other than J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons), a character not seen since Sam Raimi's 2007 film "Spider-Man 3." Raimi's films, it should be noted, are in a separate continuity from the MCU "Spider-Man" movies.

Jake Gyllenhaal Once Admitted Putting A Lot Of Pressure On Himself While Filming Spider-Man: Far From Home (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Road House star Jake Gyllenhaal, born in the Gyllenhaal family, has lived up to the family’s legacy. But there were times when he got overwhelmed while filming, and something similar happened during Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. He appeared in the role of Mysterio and heavily impacted the life of Tom Holland’s character, Peter Parker. The Oscar-nominated actor is known for going the extra mile for his roles.
He lost around 30 pounds for his role in Nightcrawler. However, after that, he decided not to get engrossed in a role further, and the primary reason for it might be his Oscar snub. He was not nominated for the Academy Awards for that part. On the personal front, Jake is the son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner.

I can't say if actor Tom Holland is well-suited to play Spider-Man, but I can say with absolute certainty that he is a first-rate teen heartthrob. He's handsome, affable, and dazzling in interviews. He has mastered the self-deprecating smile, and his tendency to give away the plot details of Avengers movies weirdly humanizes him. When it comes to acting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems little else is demanded of its leading men. Acting is less important than ineffable charm.

Tom Holland recently told Extra that “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is one of the Tom Holland movies he rewatches most. The 2017 superhero tentpole marked Holland’s first standalone movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after debuting as Spider-Man in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War.” It also marked the MCU debut of Zendaya as Mj. The two would go on to make an additional two “Spider-Man” movies together: “Far From Home” (2019) and “No Way Home” (2021), both of which hit the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.
“Zendaya and I will, every now and then, watch ‘Spider-Man 1′ and reminisce about being 19 and making those movies again,” Holland said. “It’s such a luxury, such a gift, to be able to sit down and sort of relive your youth and watch those movies. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without that job.’

The ‘Spider-Man’ franchise stands out as Marvel’s most lucrative, boasting numerous standalone movies within the MCU. However, a significant distinction exists between Spider-Man films and the rest of the MCU, as not all of Spidey’s projects are available on Disney+, recognized as the primary hub for Marvel cinematic content.
A significant development is set for November 3, bringing us closer to having all Spider-Man movies on the platform. ‘Far From Home’ will be added to the catalog, leaving only one more movie to complete the collection.

‘Spider-Man’ Franchise is by far the most lucrative one that Marvel has, so it’s no wonder that the character has several standalone movies as part of the MCU. But there is a massive difference between Spider-Man movies and the rest of the MCU, as not all of Spidey’s projects are on the Disney+ streaming platform, which is well known to be home of the most Marvel-related cinematic projects.
On November 3, however, we’re getting one step closer to having all Spider-Man movies on the platform since ‘Far From Home’ is joining the catalog, which leaves only one more movie to be added.

Marvel Studios has an official name for Tom Holland's Spider-Man trilogy within the MCU.
This three-series Spidey story launched in 2017 with Spider-Man: Homecoming, followed by Far From Home in 2019, and the Multiversal No Way Home in 2021.
While Spider-Man 4 and the animated Spider-Man: Freshman Year series are reportedly in the works, Holland's silver screen trio stands as both a complete trilogy and a full story, and one that apparently warrants its own title.

Four alternate final suit designs were just revealed for Tom Holland’s webhead in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Ever since Far From Home, Holland's Spider-Man has been sporting a red and black color scheme—with some gold thrown in later for good measure. Fans were thrilled when that finally changed at the end of No Way Home.
The movie’s final scene saw Holland‘s hero swinging around a snowy New York in a perfectly comic-accurate suit. Many claim it to be one of the best, if not the best, live-action suits ever designed for the character.

This post contains spoilers for Secret Invasion.
As a spy story involving the shape-shifting Skrulls, Secret Invasion always presented itself as a twisty adventure in which nothing is what it seems. So while some people were certainly shocked when the first episode of the series ended with the death of Maria Hill, others assumed that the scene would echo CIA Agent Everett K. Ross’s death during the cold open. She would be revealed to be a Skrull and the real Maria Hill would return, probably to save Nick Fury in an exciting set piece.
But the real real Maria Hill has arrived to disabuse us of those hopes. Speaking with Vanity Fair, Hill’s actor Cobie Smulders weighed in on her character’s fate with some disappointing news for anyone writing the above headcanon.

Before the dawn of the Millennium, the prospect of a live-action Spider-Man meant Nicholas Hammond doing things slowly with a lot of string. The short-lived 1970s Spider-Man TV show perfectly illustrated that non-animated Spidey antics weren’t really achievable, although several – from James Cameron to Albert Pyun – tried to get projects spinning. But then came the arrival of CGI, and anything was possible…

Tom Holland has picked his favorite movie of all of the Spider-Man flicks…And no, he didn’t pick one of his own — and he certainly didn’t go with Spider-Man 3…
As per The Associated Press, Holland landed on a more recent entry as his favorite Spider-Man. “I think the first Spider-Verse movie is the best Spider-Man movie that has ever been made. I am so proud of everyone involved. Amy Pascal is like my mom. I was supposed to go with her as her date. I couldn’t go because I’m here working. But I’m incredibly proud of them. During the last decade, the world was introduced to Spider-Man having the same problems as most of us after a work day: getting home. In 2017, we saw the movie Homecoming, followed by Far From Home two years later. Two years since, we found out what happened to Spider-Man on his quest to get back home, as this 2021 movie told its viewers that Spider-Man had No Way Home. Spider-Man: No Way Home is a 2021 movie and is the third installment of the trilogy where Spider-Man was supposed to go home. It was released in December of that year

Tom Holland will swing into theaters as Peter Parker once again: Marvel President Kevin Feige has officially confirmed Spider-Man 4, starring the babyfaced actor, is in the works.
In a wide-ranging interview with Entertainment Weekly about Marvel’s next chapter, Feige said, “All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.”
Holland debuted as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before anchoring his first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Since then, the actor has portrayed the beloved superhero in several MCU projects and starred in two more official Spider-Man films: 2019’s Far from Home and 2021’s No Way Home.
The latter film saw previous Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles and was the first pandemic movie to surpass 1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has starred in several critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects in his long career. But the film End of Watch provided him with an experience he might never forget.

In 2012, Gyllenhaal added the police thriller End of Watch to his filmography. The movie was directed and written by David Ayer, with veteran actor Michael Pena as Gyllenhaal’s co-star. Pena and Gyllenhaal played the role of two young police officers documenting their daily experiences on the job on video. As time goes on, the two police officers find themselves in an increasingly volatile situation.
The Nightcrawler star was fascinated by Ayer’s script the moment it reached his hands. So much so that it woke up an already exhausted Gyllenhaal who was tired because of his work schedule.

Samuel L. Jackson has sported a variety of hairstyles in his movies, from Pulp Fiction to Unbreakable. But there was one unnamed filmmaker who tried to restrict the hairdo Jackson wore in a movie.

Jackson often chooses his hairstyle for the characters that he portrays in movies. Occasionally the actor would feel a certain hairdo would fit a particular role, while also telling audiences a bit more about his character’s story.
In the M. Night Shyamalan film Unbreakable, for instance, Jackson portrays a genius with hints of mental instability. Both Shyamalan and Jackson agreed that a disheveled look for Jackson’s hair would be best for his Unbreakable counterpart.
“I was thinking Frederick Douglass,” he once said according to LA Times about his character’s hair. “It informed my character very well because he’s a thinker.

Guess what, spider-heads! "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is coming back to theaters, presumably because cinemas are so desperate for something to show that isn't "Top Gun: Maverick" that they'd resort to just screening movies from last year again with slightly new content and call it a day — and just wait until they re-release a 13-year-old movie and you have to act surprised when James Cameron once again dominates theaters.
The "More Fun Stuff Version" of "No Way Home" is set to include 11 whole minutes of footage, which brings the total runtime of Tom Holland's latest outing as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to a whopping 2 hours and 39 minutes, making it the second longest Marvel movie after "Avengers: Endgame." What's in those 11 minutes, you may ask? A whole lotta fun stuff, if you believe the title of the new version. But seriously, it is comprised of deleted scenes not included in the Blu-ray,...

There is no sugar coating it, this will be another horrible weekend at the box office. The official end to the summer movie season is generally a slow time at the theaters, but it seems odd that no studio hopped on this date to throw out something with a bit of heat behind it, especially after the success of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings showed that the holiday can pull in solid numbers when it set the record with 71.4 million just last year.
This weekend sees Marvel try their hand at re-releasing one of the biggest movies ever made, with what they are dubbing The More Fun Stuff Version of Spider-Man: No Way Home having the widest release of the weekend on 3,850 screens. Director Sam Raimi has imagined a host of alternate realities in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But on the press tour for the latest MCU film, Raimi has given fans a glimpse of a different world that almost came to be, one in which he joined Sony to make a fourth Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker and Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson. As Raimi began developing the project following 2007’s Spider-Man 3, rumors circulated that Maguire would star opposite John Malkovich as Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture. But the bigger questions surrounded Raimi’s longtime partner Bruce Campbell. Who would he be in a fourth Spider-Man film?
Raimi partially answered that question in an interview with Rolling Stone. Among the regrets he has for the canceled film, the biggest might be losing the “really great cameo we had designed for Bruce Campbell.

[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for “Morbius” and its post-credits scenes.]
Let’s get this one out of the way: Despite appearing in marketing materials for “Morbius”, Michael Keaton does not actually appear in the vast majority of Daniel Espinosa’s film. In fact, depending on your stance on post-credits scenes, the beloved actor (and star of both Marvel and DC properties) doesn’t appear in the film at all. Instead, he takes center stage in a pair of post-credits scenes.
Espinosa’s film, which stars Jared Leto as the eponymous vampire/doctor/haunted soul Dr. Michael Morbius, occupies some weird space in the growing Spider-Verse. Like the “Venom” films — the film nods to it in a few offhand comments — “Morbius” is set in a universe in which Spider-Man (at least as we know him) doesn’t exist. Instead, this universe is home to at least two classic Spidey villains — Venom and Morbius, of course — who...

“It’s a tough year and it keeps getting tougher!” declares visual effects maestro Kelly Port about the quality of films in contention this year for the Best Visual Effects at the Oscars, for which he is nominated for the second time in his career, this time for “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” “It seems like every year you look at the 10 films that had to be narrowed down to five and all were just excellent quality. When I think about it as an academy voter myself, you think,” me muses, “does it look good, does it fit in, is it consistent across the whole film? If it takes you out of the movie, that’s the worst thing that can happen for a visual effect.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

During his years as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man-in-residence, Tom Holland has had to navigate all sorts of extensive action set pieces. The actor kicked things off with a massive airport battle in "Captain America: Civil War", survived a crashing plane in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," fended off various elemental battles in "Far From Home" before finally coming face-to-face with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) and his trippy VFX deceptions, and -- oh, yeah -- remember that time Thanos threw an entire moon at him and the other heroes during "Avengers: Infinity War"?

Never question the web that the MCU is spinning!
Benedict Cumberbatch admitted to Empire magazine that he was at first skeptical about “Spider-Man: No Way Home” being the blockbuster to arguably save theaters amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I think when Kevin Feige first said, ‘We’ll know about the future of cinema, or the cinema-going experience, after this film,’ I was like, ‘Ok, everyone’s drinking too much of the Kool-Aid around here,'” Cumberbatch said.
The superhero film, which placed all three iterations of Spider-Man played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, respectively, in the same film, opened to a staggering $260 million. “No Way Home” went on to become the biggest film in Sony history and topped “Avatar” to become the third biggest movie ever at the domestic box office.
“My ignorance was showed up,” Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange in the MCU films, added.
