The Screen Actors Guild announced its nominees Wednesday (December 14) for the best performances of the year in both television and film. The SAG Awards are the only ones with actors choosing among their peers to select the winners, so they are considered to be among the highest honors in Hollywood.
With the Golden Globe nominations arriving Thursday and the Academy Awards looming in the near future, everyone is eagerly searching for some hint of how things may shake out on Oscar night. Among the SAG nominations, there are plenty of the familiar names that have garnered awards attention this year, but also a fair number of surprises.

Chicago – The announcements keep coming for award season winners and nominees. Today, we have the list of nominees for this year’s Screen Actors’ Guild awards. The awards celebrate the best male and female performances in film and television, leaving out awards like Best Picture or Best Director. “The Help” leads this year’s films with four different nominations.
The nominees for the top prize of the night, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, are the casts of “The Artist,” “Bridesmaids,” “The Descendants,” “The Help,” and “Midnight in Paris.” Curious not to see “Moneyball” or “My Week with Marilyn” on this list as both films have two individual nominations for top acting awards (Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill for “Moneyball” and Michelle Williams and Kenneth Brangah for “Marilyn”).
The list of curious nominees and snubs doesn’t end there. Demian Bichir has been nominated for Outstanding Performance...

"Hispanics Are spending more time than non-Hispanics on social media. We have also seen that the telenovela phenomenon is pretty universal among Hispanic consumers. In March, we established a website, clubdenoveleras.com. It's a place to learn about the novelas, share your thoughts about them, and meet others, and it is done under the banner of our products. You get points and eventually gain privileges and even gifts from the stars, including beauty products and autographs. You are asked to sign up and fill in a profile. This gives us the opportunity to create a database and get knowledge about the consumers. We...

"Hispanics Don't live in a country called Hispania. They live right here. This spring, NBCUniversal launched 'Hispanics at NBCU,' a company-wide initiative designed to bring the larger culture into the Hispanic media world and the Hispanic media world into the larger media world. For example, in April, on Telemundo, we aired the Latin Billboard Awards, which is one of the largest music-award shows in the Hispanic market. We promoted it across all of NBCU and ran a lot of marketing and cross-promotion. Then, on the reverse side,...

In raunchy new rom-com The Ugly Truth, shock jock Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler) thinks he knows it all. As the host of TV show The Ugly Truth, he dishes out relationship advice all with a heavy dollop of male chauvinism, telling women where they’re going wrong in their pursuit of love. It’s counsel that he soon bestows on his new producer, the unlucky in love Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl), even going so far as to overhaul her wardrobe (find out how to get Abby’s look here). A man instructing a woman on what to wear? Yes, it’s insulting stuff (apparently her breasts don’t “sit up and sing”), but Mike does seem to know what he’s talking about when it comes to style. We love his cool, laidback look and so this week we’re getting our fashion fix courtesy of his Agave vintage goat suede jacket.
