A Very Big Disappointment
13 January 2008
I've been a fan of Veggie Tales since they came out. They were funny and sent a great message. This was possibly the most boring animated movie I've ever seen. Now granted I'm in my twenties but I still enjoy kids cartoon movies, so when I see one I don't like, I try to hear the reaction from the kids in the audience to see how they enjoy it. Aside from a chuckle every now and then, none of the kids were laughing during the movie. I think the main problem is that there's a lot of dialog. So, coming from a life long fan of the Veggie Tales, it's probably best to keep the kids at home and throw in one of Veggie classics.

Shoot 'Em Up (2007)
The most fun you will have at the movies
8 September 2007
As I stated above, this movie is a fun ride. The script was probably written by a 13 year old kid who plays a lot of video games, but that's why it's great. You can just kick back, turn your brain off for 80 minutes, and enjoy. It is the ultimate guy movie. And for the one liners: as cheesy and lame as you could ask for. Shoot Em Up was made to entertain the 20 something action junkie, so if you aren't one, you will no doubt hate this flick. But for the rest of us, who all have that 13 year old immature video gamer still inside, you gotta see it. I think Clive Owen might be the first true action star Hollywood has had in a long time. One other enjoyable feature: great soundtrack. Shootout scene with Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" in the background: you can't ask for anything better. I give Shoot Em Up 8 out of 10.

The Ultimate Guy Movie
4 February 2006
The Deer Hunter is, and will forever be, the ultimate guy movie. I'm not saying the ladies wouldn't enjoy it. I think The Deer Hunter has some qualities to it (mainly the performance of Meryl Streep) that women would appreciate, however, not on the level that a guy would. And it doesn't matter who you are, male female, if you were not on the edge of your seat clinching the arm rests during the Russian roulette scenes, check your pulse! That was the fastest my heart has ever raced during a movie. The movie has only one flaw; the wedding reception scene went on way too long. The editors could've cut at least five minutes from that scene. Intense and emotional, The Deer Hunter continues to move audiences even after almost 30 years since its release.

Hoodwinked! (2005)

Not good all around.
15 January 2006
I'm in my 20's, and yes I still enjoy these types of movies. But Hoodwinked, dull. Other than the singing goat and the chipmunk with the Wolf, pretty boring. The woodsman had his moments too, but not enough to save the movie. But, when I see a family/kids movie like this, I take into consideration that it wasn't made for someone like me, it's for the kids. But even the kids in theater (quite a lot I must say, there was a birthday party and they took up 2 rows) were not laughing. I liked the concept of Little Red Riding Hood through the eyes of all the characters, but this didn't live up to it's potential.

Why??
21 March 2004
All I can say about Lost in Translation is that it was one the most boring movies that I've ever seen. It wasn't funny, the plot was dumb, and the acting was nothing special. Bill Murray was being himself, which is annoying enough, so why was he nominated for Best Actor? Why was this movie nominated for anything? Why did so many people like this movie? I chuckled a little bit during the exercise bike part. I don't recommend this movie to anyone. It reaffirmed my dark hatred for Bill Murray. If you liked this movie, see a doctor because I think you need help right away. I give this bad excuse for a movie 0 stars. The only thing good about this movie was that the running time was short, but the movie seemed like 3 hours.

Powerful
27 February 2004
Watching The Passion of the Christ at times was difficult. But I kept thinking that this is what happened. This what I've known and believed in my whole life, and it put me at ease. I give a lot of respect to Mel Gibson. He showed a side to the Jesus Christ story that no one has ever seen. I was moved, and I don't think that I was the only one who felt that. As soon as the credits started rolling, no one in the theatre got up right away. At times, the gore was a little much, but I looked past it. I'm glad the movies wasn't spoken in English, it made it more realistic. It's a good thing there was subtitles also. Overall, I'm glad I saw it, but I don't feel that it is something that you can see twice. Still, I give it 9 out of 10.

Better than Desperado
12 September 2003
This movie was fantastic. The plot was a lot better and easier to follow than in Desperado. It had great action that kept getting better as the movie went on. My only problem with the movie was that two actors that were killed in the first movie (Cheech Marin and Danny Trejo) were featured in this movie. Granted, they were playing different characters, but it still bothered me. Other than that, Once Upon a Time in Mexico was perfect. 9 out of 10.

Funniest Stand-Up Show Ever
12 February 2003
I'm not a big fan of Robin Williams' comedy. I saw it was on HBO one day and I thought, what the heck, let's see if this is any good. I almost wet my pants laughing so hard. His jokes were sick and offensive, I loved it! I went out and bought the DVD as soon as it came out. I watch it now about 2-3 times a week. My favorite parts are when he talks about golf, sex, and the French. Man, does he rip on the French in this (and for good reason). I recommend this to anyone who loves comedians who hold nothing back. I give it a 12 out of 10.

Jackie Brown (1997)
Disappointing
30 August 2002
Jackie Brown was Tarintino's only bad movie that I've seen. Before I watched I saw the running time; 154 minutes. I thought, well maybe it was very involved, but it was the most slow moving, drawn out, movie I've ever seen. The only good thing in that movie was Samuel L. Jackson's performance. Maybe I had too high of expectations for it, considering it was made by the same guy who made Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. I don't recommend this movie but if you feel you must watch it, go into it with low expectations.

Worst Movie I've Ever Seen
23 June 2002
Kung-Pow sucked, really bad. It wasn't even a real movie, the guy dubbed himself into an old kung-fu movie. I didn't even see the whole movie, because after an hour into it I wanted to stab myself in the head with a pitch fork, but instead I walked out. Rating, -10 out of 10. Oh yes, it is that bad.

Good, but misleading
23 June 2002
Minority Report was a pretty good movie. From seeing the previews, it made me believe it was an action/sci-fi movie. But as the movie progressed, I realizied that it was more of a mystery movie. I think that it worked better this way. Steven Speilberg did a good job directing, as usual, & Tom Cruise did good also. I would recommend it, but I probably won't see it again.

Funny Stuff
14 April 2002
Let me start out by saying I'm a huge fan of South Park, so if you notice not seeing any bad remarks on this review, note that. Anyway, I loved this movie. The one thing I liked about it more than anything else was the music. People may not notice that is a musical, but it is. Personally, I hope to see it performed on broadway. I liked the jokes, the songs, and just about everything else in that movie that a film critic may hate. Go see it, it's worth your time.

Training Day (2001)

Best Cop Movie
13 February 2002
Training Day was the best cop movie I've ever seen. It had an interesting and original plot. I never felt that the movie ever slowed down. I think what made the movie so good was that it wasn't about good cops like most of these movies do. Denzel was great (as always) and it was nice to see Ethan Hawke again. Overall, very good movie. I rate it as a 9.

The Fast and the Furious has got to be one of the ten best movies I've ever seen. From the very first scene to the end credits I was on the edge of my seat. I will definetly see this movie again and I highly recommend it to anyone(even females).

Chaotic fun
15 July 2001
Any Given Sunday has to be the best movie made about Football ever. When I watch this movie I feel like I'm apart of the action. Oliver Stone is one of the most brilliant Directors to date and he did a great job with this movie. Although very long(2 hours 42 minutes) it didn't slow down much. I highly recommend this movie.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Good action, bad romance
11 July 2001
The movie could have been so much better(and shorter) if they had taken out the love story, or if they insisted on keeping it in there, shortened it. Pearl Harbor reminded me too much of Titanic, and the last thing this world needs is another Titanic. Pearl Harbor had good action, some of the best action sequences I've seen, but because of the love story, I probably will not see this movie again.

Funny and Original
18 June 2001
This has got to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has a little of everything; comedy, action, music, adventure, and action. Normally, I'm not a George Clooney fan, but he was really funny in this movie. I also found it funny that the Coen Brothers wrote this based on The Odyssey. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes to watch good movies.

A store clerk gets sent back in time to fight an army of skeletons
18 February 2001
This movie is great. It has some of the best one-liners I've ever seen in a movie. It is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It has everything a moviegoer wants to see. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 9. It also has great claymation for a movie at the time(1993). I recommend this to anyone who likes comedies or fantasy films.
