Back on track

After a few episodes that fell a little flat, this one comes back with a classic Curb vibe!

Really funny and edgy with brilliant cameos. I have high hopes the rest of the season will stay on this level of quality. 10/10 for this episode.

Larry David is a genius
gina_gemini15 November 2021
Only Larry David can pull something like this off. The part with the robe had me in stitches.

I was laughing so hard I was actually hurting.

I really love this show. They made the right call by bringing this masterpiece back.

And I hope Larry keeps making these. The edgier the subjects the funnier it gets. It is a joy watching him navigate those subjects.

Best episode of the season so far
tneighborsu15 November 2021
Really happy this episode exists especially since the season started off pretty slowly. Can't wait to see how they follow up this experience. It'll be hard, the bar has been set.

Amazing
allweinz20 November 2021
This episode is hilarious. Multiple storylines involving themes of culture, character, and racism all masterfully woven together. Blending storylines is of course what the show regularly does, but this episode does it in such a funny way, I can't even explain. Also, Woody Harrelson was really good in it. I hope they bring him back.

One of the Top Five Episodes

It's a testament to Larry David's writing that he's still delivering layered, dense, brilliant episodes like this in the eleventh season! One of the episodes I know we'll watch over and over again. Bravo!!

Absolutely hilarious

I haven't watched Curb since it originally aired many years ago. I happened to catch this episode and watched to see if the show was still funny. It was. Ridiculously, hilariously funny.

Top Notch Curb Episode
Theedg315 November 2021
Show gets back on track in the funny department with episode 4. Felt like the second and third episode were mediocre Curb eps especially compared to the opener but this ep delivers the goods.

So many things going on from the watermelon, pirates booty to a not so bad Klansman as Larry says. This ep felt like everything Curb can be when its right, everything clicked well.

The banter between Vaughn and David can be great and it shines here, hope we see more of it in awkward scenarios. It felt like Larry was playing George and Vince was Jerry tonight.

More stuff like this, less Young Larry and Maria Sofia Estrada.

Vintage Larry David

LD continues to entertain with a terrific episode this week, perhaps the best of season eleven. All of the actors this week turned in strong comedic performances, with Larry and JB Smoove leading the way.

Weak Season? I don't think so.
paulovmota15 November 2021
It is true that the first 2 episodes were just normal, but for me still funny. The 3rd episode was a little numb, like "The Puerto Rican Day" in the last season of Seinfeld. With funny things, but the overall was lacking.

In this episode, I laughed so much I was almost disturbed. Great comedy bits that just explode while juxtaposed. Very good.

My only critique comes from someone that understands that these problems, stated on this episode, are somewhat not new, and the show takes advantage from that, of course. But it makes me wonder, when will Larry attack the anti-vaxxers and the hypocrites that hide behind such blunt conformity (that clearly comes from fear), when ?

Maybe it is too soon, not even for this season. Maybe the world wants to use Larry David's persona to promote things that most people are afraid to talk about and Larry David himself is self-conscious about this.

I just keep finding thoughts that support this man. His work does have a place in nowadays society.

For me, this season is going well. Keep it coming.

You'd think it'd lose steam after so long but it just doesn't
aovannor25 November 2021
Masterfully crafted comedy here. Curb is always great at setting up the big laughes early on and delivering a great payoff but this episode was a masterclass. It's setting up like four payoffs at the same time. The watermelon stuff just ruined me.

Larry and his team does it again.

Larry pushes the limits, but will not discriminate! Vince Vaughn is top notch in this episode. Moments where I couldn't stop laughing. Sometimes it seems Curb is the only show that can do that.

I've been watching Curb since the start, this episode is in my top 10.
okita4 February 2022
Everything was perfectly crafted, which is what you probably expect from a great Curb episode. All the set-ups were there, and the payoffs were hilarious. But so many unexpected things happened too.

Love the way they depicted the political divide, it was fun and lighthearted.

The Watermelon
bobcobb30120 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think the show is just trying to do outrageous things right now instead of giving us meaningful stories. This was just a bunch of people yelling and not smart like Curb used to be.

The Watermelon offers brilliant writing and performances. Larry David was at his best. I laughed the whole way through. While a few earlier episodes were a bit flat, this one is classc.

Classic Curb
Cedonc2 January 2022
Honestly, I thought the first episodes were weak but this is the Curb we know and like. It seriously felt like a lost episode from one of the early seasons. Enjoyed every second of it.

Funny ala Larry David
myronlearn16 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I noticed that in the cast listing, there's no mention of Woody Harrelson, of the racist farmer and of the blonde eye doctor. Why were they deleted as they all had major roles in this episode?

I laughed so hard
birdsonthings1 January 2023
I'd watched all Curb Your Enthusiasm seasons a long time ago and decided to start season 11. Larry David just does not disappoint. I was laughing so hard at this episode. The ending was just beyond hilarious. He just tackles every topic no matter how offensive and I actually laugh out loud every time. Do yourself a favor and start this season. I can't believe how silly yet somewhat believable the scenes are. All the actors are perfect, the writing is perfect, the episodes can be watched out of order which I love. The watermelon topic - I loved it. Leon Black is the perfect sidekick for Larry. A+ writing!!! Watch it!!!!

Hysterical... Recommend cautiously
ttimgents28 May 2022
Every scene, every bit very funny... But one should cautiously recommend or choose a viewing companion... Understandably, some viewers may find a few of the topics "too soon," too sensitive to be basis of a comedy bit.

THIS is the funniest episode of the season?
FlorianLaur23 April 2022
I don't want to sound like a hater. I try to give new episodes a chance. Often they get better when we watch them the second time around.

Like season 9. I initially didn't really like it, but it grew on me. And season 10? I think it was actually very good, considering that times simply have changed and what the show was like 20 years ago and now WILL feel different, simply because of the feeling decades have.

But what was so funny so far this season?

We get an episode with Lucy Liu, yet other than her being Lucy Liu, they do nothing with her (i mean, they could have put in something like Larry assuming she knows stereitypical Asian stuff? Or have her run into a glass window?). We get all those celebreties being different people for what reason exactly? Making a fuss over dropped stuff and entitlement? Fighting over a spoiled shirt?

The first 2 episodes seemed promising, but somehow it feels kind of phoned in lately. It isn't awful or bad and still has a few funny moments, but considering the high standards Larry made for this show, it's underwhelming. I preferred the storylines that were closer to life, like Larry/Richard going to a store to get ice cream and stuff like that. Now all we see is the cameo of the week gf that seems to be just a prop and that's it?

I'm not going to rate this episode yet, because I really can't put it in numbers without risking to be unfair. But I wish Larry would focus more on what made the show good once. Maybe give him a gf or a wife again (I'd love to see him with Gina Gershon's character, there should be a lot of potential in that, especially with Susie).

Good episode but
tylernjazz16 November 2021
I don't really understand why they're making fun of Joaquin Phoenix. In case you didn't know, Woody Harrelson's speech in the episode is Joaquin Phoenix's speech verbatim. It'd be less weird if it were just a generic liberal speech, but singling him out by repeating it word for word felt kinda weird.

Funniest Curb episode of all time!
kcitraro26 February 2024
I scrolled through to see how this got an 8.7. I see all 10's like me and the occasional 1 or 2. So I read the 1 or 2's and they don't like the subject. They don't like that Larry tackled racial stereotypes. I am going to say he not only tackled those stereotypes, he made fun of them. Everything from black people eating watermelon to a klansman being a "nice guy". Theres nothing not to like about this episode. Absolutely nothing. And if you don't find it funny? Something's wrong with you, not the show. Watch it yourself and see why so many of us believe this is one of if not the best shows of Larry's career!

This season shouldn't exist
fabrisrocha16 November 2021
Are there really someone who's laughing with these unfunny episodes? It's very sad what Larry is doing with this season. Curb can be divided in the ten first seasons, which were actually great, with some intelligent humor, and this one, which isn't "Curb" at all. It looks like I'm watching that terrible netflix comedy shows for teenagers. Horrible!

WATERMELON
EvanKevelson17 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
That was the only hysterical "Schtick" in this episode, Leon's unknown fear of eating watermelon in front of white people and purchasing the watermelon and starting a small "nothing wrong with watermelon" movement was great.

Deciding 1-2 at the eye doctor was hysterical for eye glass wearers because there's always 1-2 lens decisions that are tough to make.

I don't know what people are ranting about the klan there was nothing funny. Larry agreeing to clean his robe was moronic, as was the cow with the left PETA politics. Then LD compared to a hysterical season 4 where LD had to buy tickets off a scalper to get in, ends up in a half empty synagogue in casual dress on Rosh Hashanah.

There's no comparison between leaving small dropped crap on the floor and Jerry's preoccupation with "Man Hands".

Actually only the satire of "inter-species equality" was hysterical every thing else with Woody from having to see a cow to dropping grapes simply not funny.

This season continues to be a tremendous disappointment- at least I got an episode break from "Marsha Lipshutz".

Being 2/5 through the season; very much like season 9... unless the final 6 turn a 180 to funny it gets shelved as "The lost unfunny episodes".
