I like to fall asleep to this show. Not sure what it is that puts me to sleep......maybe it's the soothing sound of Phil's voice.

Some good jokes, good entertainment to me.

I'm surprised reading so many extremely negative reviews for this stand-up comedy from Phil Wang. I thought it was entertaining from beginning till the end. Maybe he was a bit repetitive at one point, like some other reviewers wrote, but to me it was all part of the show. He has a good vocabulary, a little bit of sarcastic humor (that's probably the part some people don't get) and he's not afraid of self-deprication. This show doesn't deserve so many negative reviews, at least not that low of ratings.
Enjoyable watch.

Phil Wangless

Phil Wang's quirky comedy is definitely fun to watch when on panel shows as it makes him stand out, but this special was just generic (race, Covid-19, veganism). Bite size versions of Wang's comedy is easier to watch as you realise he is the gimmick (usually playing to the Asian and millennial stereotypes or wearing his silly yellow suit in TaskMaster). This was just a load of mismatch jokes woven together. His set doesn't feel polished enough for a Netflix special, maybe this is due to lockdown and not being able to perform that much, who knows. It just doesn't click as it becomes more monotonous throughout, waiting for a reason to not turn it off. His jokes definitely felt cheap as you don't feel fulfilled/entertained afterwards. Just questioning what you're watching... If you've seen him on panel shows or heard him in a podcast, decide for yourself but if you're going into this not knowing much about Phil Wang I would recommend staying away as this is a tough watch.
Too repetitive

Usually absolutely love Phil Wang but this was terrible. Introducing the jokes and getting to the punchlines was so repetitive. Couldn't watch it all for that reason. Sad to say as Phil was great in Taskmaster and is great in panel comedy shows.
If you like his stand up shows you'll like this a lot

We've seen quite a bit of Phil's stand up and it was great to see a new show and all full of new material.
Much of it very topical, which is not necessarily easy in these challenging times, but he pulled it off and we laughed a lot all the way through.

I think he wants a Cork in his balls?

If you were to have the entire transcript it would be a lot and I mean a lot of repeating the same sentence. No matter how many times you repeat something doesn't make it anymore funnier than the first time you said it.
Don't get me wrong there are a few decent jokes and laugh out loud moments but be prepared to hear the same thing said over and over again.

Repeat much?

If he were half as funny as he thinks he is

If he were half as funny as he thinks he is in this show, I'd've given him 7 stars. Not funny. Fart jokes are not funny in your 30s. (Are they?!) VERY repetitive. One reviewer said if it wasn't funny the first time, it won't be funny when you say it again and again. I fully agree. He does have a great voice! Very soothing. I laughed a couple of times - about China taking over the planet. But otherwise, fart and balls just aren't funny at this stage and age. OH! Speaking of stages, the stage set up was a 10!!
Wangtastic!

I love stand up comedy but ...

... unfortunately, this guy isn't funny.
I lost count of how many times he said, "I'd love a cork up my balls" but it wasn't funny the first time and the repetition, repetition simply became a. Unnecessary b. Moved into minus funny and c. Finally just sounded stupid.
As many comedians do, these days, in injected the 'f' word into his routine - it took him about 15 minutes to do but but then he couldn't stop, like a rock gaining speed as it rolled down hill, he went there, too.
If you're a stand up fan, skip this guy. I, foolishly managed 60 minutes but then I thought I could better spend my time putting a sweet potato in the oven, so I did.

Not only not funny, but bottomline offensive
