PIKE! I spent so much of this episode cheering and crying, I had to rewatch nearly half of it to catch everything I missed! Love it. So much awesome, so much sadness, so much triumph. I can't wait for the last 3 episodes.

From Someone Not Familiar With Critical Role...

Warning: Spoilers
This is where the series really nailed itself in for me. Such an excellently paced arc, honestly, as the last three episodes were all fantastic, but this one takes the cake.

I think there was a small pacing issue in the first episodes. It was still fun, but it was missing something integral. This storyline provides that in spades, developing Percy in a really interesting and dark way. When his backstory started, I thought it was a little basic, but after going through all the twists and turns and even learning what the BRIARWOODS past was like, the situation has become delightfully complicated.

I can see moments of DnD adventure-like things in all the episodes, but they've really done a good job of cementing this as a show. Excited to see what is to come.

I want to know the name of the song at the end of the episode. Both the English version and the Turkish version are super acoustic. Please let me know if anyone knows the name.

Let us feel the weight!

Warning: Spoilers
I love the show and I've loved every single episode up until this one. Don't get me wrong, it's good: it's got action, pacing and great humour, I just hoped it could have felt heavier.

The show has been aesthetically heavy in gore and sexual jokes, but when things finally seem to get actually bad for the party, everything gets solved in one quick minute speech from a pretty light-headed Percy, even though his best friend has just been sliced in half in front of him. I guess there's too little time in the episode for us to dwell on Archibald's death, but it kind of felt just like a random casualty that, in fact, ended up being good for everyone because now there's room for a new leader, as Cassandra says so.

I just hoped to see the show's first death of an important character as a more impactful event on the party. Something that really exposed everyone's vulnerabilities and made Percy break down hard and mourn for a while, just so we could see him rise again from that as a stronger leader in a next episode. It was all just too quick to process. Death is a heavy subject and no big loss should ever feel easy. It may be dark but we can take it, let us feel the weight!
