Sweet episode

Not exactly a classic and a few jokes miss the mark but overall is is a sweet and mostly funny episode. It is more memorable than your average episode with it showing Homer and Marge getting together as children. I loved how it showed that Homer has heart and although doesn't always act like it, he loves Marge and it is depicted well in this episode. It moved from location to location well and the animation was nice and setting nice and warm too. The ending was very sweet. Marge suspected that Homer just forgot about her and never came back, which seems like something Homer would normally do. But this episode gives him heart, and shows that he thought about Marge every day since. Very sweet and heartwarming. Recommend it if you want a calm, Simpson love story instead of your normal funny, silly episode.

Perfect !

This is great as drama, as comedy, or as seeing all the characters of The Simpsons' world like Disney's Babies. I was amazed by endless good details; like the dreamy sequence of how the 2 leads felt about their first kiss which was so enjoyable and truthful. Melhouse's punchline that ends a scene is another. But still the smartest one at all is the moment when we know that Homer kept his half of the stony heart for all of these years. In fact, the romantic sense was surprisingly overwhelming. I felt really touched in what seemed firstly as another round of The Simpsons' hilarity. One of the highest characteristics about this show is the freedom of the writing team to do whatever they want, unlike the rest of any "live" show which must look lower in comparison. So how about so talented writing as well. Here, this kind of writing was the real lead of it. Ladies and gentlemen; very few times when I said "perfect" about a work of art. This one earns it well, with every second of it. It is not only one of the Simpsons' best pieces; it is one of the best 20 minutes I have ever lived. I hope that this comment can express my love towards it.

..And they were telling me that after season 9 of The Simpsons, nothing was good ?!

I agree with the previous reviewer - no good episodes of 'The Simpsons' past series 9? Not true!

Going back to basics after that rubbish 'The 90's Show' episode this is a lovely funny, heartfelt episode, centring on the early years of Marge/Homer.

If only there were more episodes like this.
