Gary and Sandy have lived and raised their family in their home for the past 31 years. They are ready to downsize but haven't received any offers in the past 3 months. Open House guests think it is cluttered and small. They don't like the shag carpet or light fixtures. All the collectibles, lace and fake flowers are packed away. Fresh paint, fresh flowers and new fabrics brighten the rooms. Moving out furniture from the rooms make them look big and open. All the work was worth it because they sold their house within a week.

Open House guests don't like the paint colors, the old carpet and the dated look. New flooring, back-splash, and cabinet handles update the look of the kitchen. The living room is rearranged to show the great fireplace. The master bedroom is painted and new linens are used to show how big the room is. The second open house comments are that the rooms are beautiful. The house sold for $10,000 over their asking price in ten days.

Open house guests say the house is dark and small. But after removing clutter, window treatments and wallpaper it is much more open and bright. And after the changes, she sold the house.
