I have put this movie in my watchlist for a long long time but I still dont watch because I want to read the novel first. Because from my experience before for Ayat-Ayat Cinta, I read the novel first, I love it and then I watch the movie, it is the worst adaptation ever. But, on this day, I dont know what movie I gonna watch, so I just "who cares" and pick this movie. And yeah, it is so good! I think malaysian have continue the legacy of director U-Wei with Sabri Yunus, he is good too. You should watch Butak, same vibe.

A rare pearl of its kind

It has always been hard to find a good adaptation of novels nowadays. But U-Wei had succeeded in this movie. He delivers what the original author cannot do - telling a story in celluloid form. U-Wei had made a big name himself in the international front but being criticised by fellow countrymen. His other film 'Kaki Bakar' had won great attention in France; but had not even been premiered here in Malaysia. He directed a story of a village whore in 'Perempuan, Isteri dan ....' which became a controversy and U-Wei had been slammed by many local Woman's Societies that labelled the film as exploitation of female gender.
Watch 'Jogho' and you will not be disappointed; but please don't read the novel beforehand or you will miss the suspense and the climax.
