The fountain of youth has been available to us all along, according to 100-year-old Florence Bearse—and all you need is a wine-opener to get to it.
Bearse celebrated her 100th birthday on July 6 at the Westgate Center for Rehabilitation in Bangor, Maine. Surrounded by friends, balloons and cake, most of Bearse’s attention was focused on her favorite past-time and her secret to making it far into her golden years: good wine.
“I like my wine,” Bearse told Wlbz-tv, while wearing a pink and white Hawaiian lei. “Don’t take it away from me.”

The Pirates Of The Caribbean movies have not been easy films to make....
As Michael Bolton once belted out: “This is the tale of Captain Jack Sparrow.” The Pirates Of The Caribbean film was a surprise sleeper hit in 2003, astounding the higher-ups at Disney who had long been sceptical of how a pirate movie, based on a ride at Disneyland, would appeal to audiences.
Off the back of this success, the sequels only got more ambitious and expensive in scale, with their use of practical effects and convoluted character dynamics serving to complicate the adventure format, with mixed results. It shouldn't shock you then, to hear that each of the movies released so far had some serious behind-the-scenes battles to make them shipshape.
The fifth and apparently final instalment, Salazar's Revenge (or Dead Men Tell No Tales), has had some very public battles before it has even been released,...

Landon’S Take:
Orson Welles is celebrated as one of the foremost visionaries in the history of American filmmaking. He’s also renowned as the perennial artist against the system. While both of these factors make Welles perhaps the ideal auteur – someone satisfied with nothing less than a perfect articulation of his individual vision within the collaborative medium of filmmaking – it also presents some unique problems in examining works that were taken away from him.
The classically celebrated auteurs of studio era Hollywood (e.g., Hawks, Ford, Hitchcock) were known for creating individuated worldviews across their body of work either despite or even because of the strictures inherent in Classical Hollywood filmmaking. This was not Welles, who from his rise to infamy with the 1938 “War of the Worlds” broadcast to his first studio feature made a name by challenging the assumed utilities of a medium. Neither could...

Cameron Diaz is spilling some dirty details about her sex life. The 42-year-old star graces the cover of Cosmopolitan UK's "Love Your Body" issue, where she opens up about how she stays fit and healthy with a combination of diet, exercise, and, yes, sex. "It's something healthy that we need to be doing for many different reasons," the actress tells the mag about her active sex life. This isn't the first time Cam has talked about the benefits of sex. Back in 2010, she told British Vogue it helps to keep her young. "The fountain of youth [for me], let's see...I guess it's exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex -- yes, sex, we need that as human beings," she said at the time. "It's healthy, it's natural, it's what we are here to do!"While she enjoys getting busy between the sheets, the blonde bombshell also...

Newlywed Cameron Diaz believes that the "fountain of youth" lies between the sheets.
The 42-year-old Sex Tape star opened up to Cosmopolitan UK magazine about what keeps her young, and aside from diet and exercise, she also credits love making. "It's something healthy that we need to be doing for many different reasons," Diaz, who married Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in January, tells the women's magazine.

"Everything dies, baby, that's a fact," sang Bruce Springsteen in the song "Atlantic City." "But maybe everything that dies someday comes back."
The Boss might have been singing about this week's happenings in the world of television, events that proved once again that TV is a rest home where nothing ever truly dies and everything can someday return to life (with only a minimum of zombie-creepiness). In the world of television (which includes streaming online video, where everything from last night's Jimmy Fallon shenanigans to the most ancient and obscure TV arcane is just a click away), there is a galaxy of possibilities cobbled together from pop culture jetsam; there are alternate universes where amazing shows by unlikely auteurs exist, or where those shows debut when we want them to instead of years too late; and there are realms where the inability of anything to become permanently lost in the...

Forever is showing signs of life after death in this week's entertaining episode. Here's Billy's review...
This review contains spoilers.
1.4 The Art Of Murder
Whenever a reviewer takes on a new show there’s always uneasiness about the first few episodes. Because some shows can start well and then go rapidly downhill, while others can start badly and then go really, really wrong. If you’re wondering about those that start brilliantly, and then become a shiny star in the heavens of televisual history, then those usually aren’t covered by me.
That said, this week’s Forever pretty much justified me picking this one to cover, as it marked a very distinctive change of pace and purpose in what was becoming something horribly predictable. It begins in typical Murder She Wrote fashion, with an elderly socialite being stalked through the darkened corridors of a grand art gallery. Kathleen Chalfant (Kinsey,...

Forever trundles along entertainingly enough in its third episode, but needs to stop patronising its audience. Here's Billy's review...
This review contains spoilers.
1.3 The Fountain Of Youth
It’s not taken long, but I’ve started to worry about Forever, because of a few odd idiosyncrasies it’s manifesting. The one that’s most striking is that it can’t seem to let five minutes go by without someone making a comment to Henry about living forever, whereupon Ioan Gruffudd is called on to make a knowing look. Once an episode I’d accept, but repeatedly? I can only conclude that those writing it aren’t confident that their viewers will remember the main tenet of the show for longer than a few minutes, and therefore need to keep banging that drum to keep them in the loop.
That’s a shame, because the idea behind this particular episode, i.

The Fountain of Youth is a mythical spring that allegedly restores the youth of any person who drinks or bathes in its magical waters. Yeah, we’d like a taste of that please. While these magical powers have yet to be scientifically proven, we think we may have found some decent evidence to support its case. Have you seen some of the celebrities out there?! It’s unbelievable what a little self maintenance can do for a person’s complexion and physique. Radiant skin, luscious hair, a tight body and Shabam. You’ve got teenage-looking actors who are actually in their thirties.
Many of these actors have played college students in movies, sometimes even high school students – and their true ages will shock you. For example – our beloved hobbit, Elijah Woods, is in his 30s and Modern Family’s teenage drama queen Sarah Hyland is far more baby-faced than you’d realize.

With an astonishing four wins, it’s pretty safe to say that super producer Pharrell Williams had a pretty awesome 2014 Grammys Awards. In fact, the only thing bigger than Pharrell’s night was his hat. The Dudley Do Right-like Mountie headpiece set social media ablaze last night. It was an unusual look, but we think we know why he went with the over-sized hat: storage! Here are five theories of what Pharrell could have been carrying under his hat.
Option 5. Personal Pan Pizza
Hey, three and a half hours is a long time, and there’s no popcorn stand.
Option 4: The Fountain Of Youth
Seriously, the guy’s forty. How else do you think he stays looking so young?
Option 3: Blue Ivy Carter

I recently read a list ranking the 12 Star Trek films from worst to best. To my surprise Insurrection was placed bottom. Surely 5 is the worst one?!
Seriously, like have you ever watched 5?
For me there are three categories of Trek film, ‘good’, ‘bad’ and ‘ok’. Insurrection falls into the ‘ok’ category (along with 3, 7, 10).
Following on from First Contact was always going to be tough, but it all had all the right ingredients. Jonathan Frakes returned to direct, Jerry Goldsmith returned for the music, it was the first film to be fully CGI for the ship scenes too. It could of been great.
Insurrection is not a brilliant film. But it’s not the worst Trek film. I decided to put my case across the only sensible way, anonymously though the internet. Please comment away, good or bad comments appreciated, this is my first article.

Hitchcock's Vertigo may have dominated 1958, but that year was full of other films about fear and loathing. Here's Aliya's top 10...
There are so many things to be scared of. Apart from the obvious perils, such as large spiders, venomous snakes, and dentists, there are less tangible things to panic about. Fear of growing old. Fear of falling into poverty. Fear of thermonuclear war.
In 1958, Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo was released. It’s very good at making the watcher feel very uncomfortable, through the camera angles and the great score by Bernard Herrmann. But it’s not just the audience who gets to feel scared; it’s there in the script too. Scottie (played by James Stewart) suffers from vertigo, but he’s also afraid of his past, and of the pain of loss. He’s been hurt so badly before that he’ll...

If there were an actor I could vacation in, Being John Malkovich-style, it very well might be Bianca Lawson. I mean, her resume reads like the Favorite TV Shows category on my Facebook page. My So-Called Life, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, American Horror Story, Pretty Little Liars and now, Teen Wolf.
Ms. Morell, Beacon High's guidance counselor, is the latest mysterious woman Bianca has brought to television over the last 15 years, and I caught up with her yesterday to talk all about her killer career, what's to come on Teen Wolf, the power of "Emaya" and whether the ageless star has actually located The Fountain of Youth!

It's one thing to watch an eye-popping scene in a CG-laden blockbuster and go, "How the heck did they do that?" It's quite another to have the filmmakers behind those scenes pull back the cinematic curtain and explain what it took to put the footage up onscreen.
That's exactly what we've been doing for some of the biggest movies in Hollywood, from a cinematographer breaking down that epic hallway fight scene in "Inception," to a visual-effects supervisor detailing the digital creation of a young Jeff Bridges in "Tron," to a director walking us through how to build a scream-inducing sequence in "Paranormal Activity 2."

If our navigator is correct, we're clearing the fog and sailing on a direct course for the much-anticipated May 20 launch of Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
Before we rejoin Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush (along with newcomers Penélope Cruz and Ian McShane) in their ever-vigilant quest for treasure, treasure, and more treasure (also: The Fountain of Youth), we thought it best to give our fellow shipmates a little primer in the previous trilogy of pirate epics. Savvy?

There are a ton of movies coming out this year and next year, so its rather easy to anticipate all of them. Well, people seem to be overlooking certain aspects of these films. For example some are reboots, others are sequels without the original cast, and others are just plain out there. So here are six movies I am looking forward to for specific reasons.
1.) Transformers Dark of the Moon. Reason: No Megan fox
Transformers blew everyone away when the first film had breathtaking visuals and brought a childhood favorite alive before our eyes. We could write books on how many times Michal Bay took CGI to new levels, and how he honestly doesn’t care about the standards of movie making. Like it or not, the first Transformers also had a pretty good story behind it.
With Transformers 2, Michal Bay tried to experiment a little. He tried to add...

Most of the summer I spend sitting in the dark watching film, escaping the punishing humidity of Toronto to breathe in cool air conditioning and the aroma of popcorn. On special occasions I spend an evening under the stars watching them at my local drive-in theater. This is the closest thing I can recognize as pure bliss. I say yes please to fantasy, but I’m a persnickety kind of film buff, so not just anything will simply do. I’ll fail a film if I see possibilities inside it that it never aspires to. Yet, if a film, say for instance Hanna, has a bizarre perspective, but its characters have truth, I’ll forgive that maybe its riddled full of plot holes and conveniences. Film isn’t about reality, but a kind of truth through fantasy that should reveal itself to me if I’m going to believe in it.

Today Disney released the second official trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. My Idiot Brother
Opens: 2011
Cast: Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Steve Coogan
Director: Jesse Peretz
Summary: Ned is a well-meaning idealist just released from prison for dealing cannabis. In succession, he disrupts the lives and homes of his three sisters: a career-driven journalist about to get her big break; a bisexual hipster whose lies are disrupting her relationship; and a married mother who hasn't noticed that her marriage is falling apart.
Analysis: Scoring a good response over the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival, this broad light comedy with a sweet heart charmed the pants off The Weinstein Company to the tune of around $6 million for distribution rights. That covers most of its sub-$10 million budget, a number that it could potentially outgross by several factors if the good-natured tone hinted at in the reviews were correct. If anything, the few negatives tended to be because this...

"Mermaids, zombies and Blackbeard." Oh my.
Fans can expect all this and more if the teaser trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is any indication. Also, expect a lot of talk about a Fountain. The Fountain of Youth to be exact. The word is said no less than five times throughout the two and a half minute clip.
Johnny Depp is back as Jack Sparrow ("There should be captain in there somewhere"), pop culture's favorite pirate. In the trailer we get our first taste of Penelope Cruz as a dangerous woman from Jack's past, Angelica, who also may be after -- you guessed it -- the Fountain of Youth. Angelica seems to have a knack for sword-fighting and yelling in Spanish.
The new big bad appears to be Blackbeard (Ian McShane), who Jack calls "the pirate all pirates fear." He, too, is after -- say it with...

I say first official images. We’ve had quite a few already released by Jerry Bruckheimer on his twitter account but these are the first that have been released by the studio rather than the Producer himself. USA Today have shared these two new images from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with the world which show Captain Jack Sparrow, aka Johnny Depp with one image alongside his co-star, Penelope Cruz (Angelica) who is new to the franchise and plays Depp’s ‘wicked former flame’ as they both search for The Fountain of Youth. The movie also ssees newcomer to the franchise, Ian McShane who plays Cruz’ ‘sadistic father, the infamous Blackbeard!
If you didn’t get to see Et go behind the scenes of the movie, this is very much worth checking out.

Cameron Diaz is reportedly preparing to move in with Alex Rodriguez. Robbie Williams uses sex to keep himself trim. The 36-year-old singer, who has famously battled with his weight throughout his career, insists his new toned physique is all down to bedroom antics with fiancee Ayda Field. When questioned about his new buff body, Robbie said, "You're talking about sex now. Yes we do it, we do it, we really do it!"
However, it isn't just sex that keeps him slim. The "Bodies" singer also finds the time to run every day and has used his celebrity-filled Soccer Aid charity event, which takes place on Sunday, June 6 as a target for getting fitter. He told the Daily Star newspaper, "I've been running six or seven miles a day, playing a couple of 90 minute games a week, so I am knackered. I don't think I've lost weight but I have toned up. It's been a good process and it's been great to have something to aim for.

Elizabeth Swann was like the Leia to his Jack Sparrow’s Han. Except she ended up with Will Turner’s Luke. Who wasn’t her brother. This analogy just got weird…
Anyway, where I was going with this is that Jack Sparrow needs a Marion Ravenwood to his Indiana Jones, and it would seem as though that’s the direction things are headed in with this bit of casting news from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Rumour has it that Penelope Cruz is likely to star in the forthcoming Pirates sequel alongside Johnny Depp, reuniting her with Nine director Rob Marshall, who takes over the reins from Gore Verbinski, and Blow co-star Johnny Depp.
Cruz’s role is described as Jack Sparrow’s foil and equal, which could mean a number of things, though it’s safe to assume that whatever variation of foil and equal we end...

Orson Welles wasn't just thwarted on the silver screen. His plans to shake up television with innovations that anticipated the YouTube era were foiled, too
When we think of Orson Welles and television, the impulse is often to smirk. The innumerable talk-show appearances, though reliably entertaining, couldn't help but seem sad in comparison to his earlier triumphs. And those ads for the likes of Findus frozen foods and Paul Masson wine were hard to take seriously even before viral video made us familiar with Welles's absurd on-set relationship with hack copy, which ranged from perfectionist quibbling to ostensibly drunken slurring.
Fair enough. Such undertakings could hardly be counted among the highlights of any career, let alone one that included Citizen Kane and Chimes at Midnight. But it's worth bearing two things in mind in between chuckles. First, the proceeds from these appearances were invariably funnelled toward one or other of...
