I so wanted to like this movie. I am a sucker for the slow paced, mature love story between real adults. And I like Patricia Clarkson. This was a travelogue for Cairo and not much else, I am afraid. I waited for the chemistry between the two friends to evolve into something more intense and (yes) physical, because I thought it would be appropriate here, knowing they would never see each other again, and they would at least have this moment. But the writing stayed stagnant - and when maybe just the dialogue could be been more intense and sophisticated, it wasn't. It is a very pretty film to look at, and that is what got the four stars.
