Actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker found herself in a bit of hot water earlier this week when she was accused of failing to return $150,000 of jewelry. But, thankfully, her lawyer has since denied the claim as "just plain false." On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Page Six reported that court documents allegedly showed the 53-year-old star was "accused of borrowing $149,501.96 worth of accessories from Kat Florence Design in 2016 and failing to return them." The company reportedly claimed that Sjp previously wore the jewelry during a photoshoot and asked if she could "personally borrow several pieces of the jewelry to wear for a few months and then return all the pieces." (Photo Credit: R/R) While the company allegedly agreed to a two-month loan period, the brand also claimed that Sarah Jessica has still not returned the jewels, which included earrings worth $40,706.72 and a ring worth $27,115. According to Page Six, Kat Florence...

Exclusive: Ang Lee will next direct an adaptation of Ben Fountain’s novel Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. It is Lee’s first film since he won the Best Director Oscar for Life Of Pi, and he’s reuniting with Tom Rothman at TriStar. Rothman, who continues to put together filmmaker-centric projects at his Sony-based label, ran Fox and worked closely with Lee on that difficult, groundbreaking, Oscar-winning 3D film that grossed $600 million worldwide. TriStar is teamed with Film4 on the picture, which will begin production in the spring.
It was expected Lee’s next film would be the Peter Morgan-scripted boxing pic about the Thrilla In Manila bout between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, shot in 3D at Universal. They are still working on a budget and the visual effects and look of that picture, but clearly Lee was eager to get back behind the camera.

Exclusive: Cinderella seems to be a good fit for Downton Abbey actresses. Exclusive: Wme just signed Jim Sheridan, the Irish filmmaker who has been in play since his CAA agent Bob Bookman left to join Paradigm. Sheridan also signed with Manage-Ment’s Dan Halsted to be his manager. I kind of figured Sheridan would follow Bookie. But Wme pulled off a coup, just as the agency did when it shook loose Paranormal Activity helmer Oren Peli after his agent Martin Spencer left CAA to join Resolution. In the case of Sheridan, Wme gets a director responsible for what in my book are three bonafide classic films–My Left Foot, In The Name Of The Father, and The Boxer. He also helmed the autobiographical In America, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ and Brothers. His last film, Dream House, was a misfire, and he had long fought to bring I, Claudius to the screen to no avail, but a good filmmaker is a good filmmaker.

Emmy-winning writer-producer Peter Tolan is launching a TV production company with agent-turned-producer Michael Wimer. It will be based at Sony Pictures TV with a three-year overall deal.
Tolan has had close ties with Sony TV for the past five years through FX's drama "Rescue Me," which Sony TV produces. Tolan co-created the series with Denis Leary and serves as executive producer/showrunner.
Still, the new company, which hasn't settled on a name, landed at Sony after interest from several studios.
"Without sounding like a press release, I'm really happy about that," Tolan said. "The thought of going anywhere else was pretty daunting."
Tolan started off on sitcoms "Murphy Brown" and "Home Improvement" before moving into darker territory with single-camera comedies "The Larry Sanders Show" -- for which he won a writing Emmy -- and "The Job" and darkly comic drama "Rescue Me."
Now he is looking to return to his roots.
