"Some people think of a time in a straight line... they're wrong..." K Street Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an indie psychological thriller titled Altered Reality, from filmmaker / cinematographer Don E. FauntLeRoy. Despite an intriguing cast, this looks as bad as they come. Another spin on a miracle drug that gives special powers, which just reminds me of that Limitless movie. Oliver's life transforms when gifted a not-yet-existing miracle drug. Riches, unscrupulous pacts, and morphing of past & present create an altered reality, in this gripping tale of redemption & choices. Altered Reality is directed by Don E. FauntLeRoy and written by Charles Agron, who also produces and stars in this film. The cast includes Tobin Bell, Charles Agron, Alyona Khmara, and Krista Dane Hoffman, with Edward Asner and Lance Henriksen. Aside from some terrible mixing in this trailer, it's hard to make any sense of whatever is going on in here.

Any film that stars John Savage, Adrienne Barbeau and Tobin Bell has to be worth a watch. Right?

*before going into the review, let’s get the obvious out of the way: we at Age of the Nerd would like to take a moment to say we are fully aware of Victor Salva’s criminal history and the moral dilemma that is presented when discussing or financially supporting his movies.
The horror landscape has changed rather drastically in the sixteen years since controversy magnet Victor Salva first introduced slasher-starved audiences to “the Creeper” (Jonathan Breck) and his taste for body parts in the ‘Jeepers Creepers‘ franchise. Since then, there’s been the rise of the torture porn sub-genre and filmmakers like Eli Roth and Rob Zombie, the supernatural found footage genre, an obnoxious onslaught of inferior remakes (fingers shall be pointed specifically at The Wicker Man, When a Stranger Calls and Black Christmas) and a needed return to form thanks to filmmakers like James Wan, David Sandberg and Jennifer Kent.

After seeing Cassie Scerbo’s fantastic performance in Sharknado I made it a point to track down and watch anything new movie she was in, which coupled with the ridiculous new re-titling (this film originally aired on Us television as Beasts of the Bering Sea), made Damn Sea Vampires! a must-watch. It doesn’t hurt that the film is also helmed by cinematographer Don E. FauntLeRoy – who cut his directorial teeth on two Anaconda sequels and a handful of Steven Seagal movies, including one of the star best post-2005 flicks, Renegade Justice (a personal fave).

The director of the Jeepers Creepers franchise, Victor Salva, has teamed up with Saw's Tobin Bell for Dark House, a tale about a father who travels to a seemingly abandoned mansion in order to learn about his son’s dark psychic gifts.
Instead, Bell’s character, Seth, a mysterious woodsman, leaves them wrapped up in a journey about the true nature of fate.
Tobin Bell was kind enough to speak with us about his long and fascinating career and why he was drawn to the themes found inside the Dark House.
DC: I know you’ve been interviewed quite a bit in the past by guys like me about your experiences in the horror genre, but I would love to talk about your entire career and your time in New York. How did you first get your start in the business?
TB: Alan Parker hired me to do Mississippi Burning...

"Jeepers Creepers" director Victor Salva is making a new nightmare film and is recruiting Rose McGowan to become part of it. The "Charmed" actress has been tapped to star in "Rosewood Lane" which is promised to be as original as Salva's "Jeepers Creepers" franchise.
In the new movie, McGowan will play Doctor Sonny Blake, a radio talk show psychiatrist, who moves back to her childhood home after her alcoholic father dies. Once back in her old neighborhood she discovers the local paperboy is a frightening and cunning young sociopath that targeted her father and now targets her.
When the boy starts calling her show and recites eerie nursery rhymes, an unnerving game of cat-and-mouse begins. When the game escalates, she suddenly finds herself in a terrifying all out war, one that forces her to redefine her ideas of good and evil, and has her fighting to stay alive.

Someone's been doing some talking around town about Rosewood Lane . Sources tell us, and apparently a few other outlets, that Victor Salva is getting ready to shoot Rosewood Lane , a film we first reported on in 2009, although Salva's history with the project reaches further back than that. Salva will reunite with his director of photography on the Jeepers Creepers films, Don FauntLeRoy, and casting has begun. In our initial announcement for the project, it was revealed Gina Phillips and Ray Wise were locked to star. We're not certain if that still holds. If Phillips is indeed still involved, she lead the cast as a radio talk show therapist who moves back to her childhood home when her alcoholic father dies. But upon arrival, she discovers the neighborhood is terrified of...

Thanks to the guys at WorstPreviews.com, we scooped up the trailer for Anaconda: Trail of Blood, the fourth installment of that snaky series. Directed by Anaconda III director Don E. FauntLeRoy, written by Anaconda III writer David C. Olsen, and starring Anaconda III star Crystal Allen, Anaconda 4 feels more like Anaconda III: Part II than a fourth installment to the franchise kicked off by Jennifer Lopez back in 1997. But we're not really complaining. Olsen's script involves a genetically created Anaconda that has been cut in half but regenerates itself into two giant snakes which means giant snake attacks and bloody madness will ensue. Hit the jump for the trailer and keep an eye out for Anaconda: Trail of Blood attacking DVD...

The Sci Fi Channel has slated Toby Wilkins’ Splinter (pictured) for a broadcast premiere on Saturday, February 14 at 9 p.m. There will be a repeat showing the following night at 7 p.m.
The superior indie monster flick (see our review here) was briefly released theatrically last fall under the Magnet banner by Magnolia Pictures, which initially announced a DVDebut for this month; it’ll now hit disc later this spring. Splinter is just one of several creature features hitting Sci Fi in the next couple of months; also on tap is Anaconda 4: Trail Of Blood, showing on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. The fourth in the killer-snake franchise was shot back to back with last year’s Anacondas III, with director Don E. FauntLeroy and stars Crystal Allen and John Rhys-Davies returning (but not, sadly, David Hasselhoff). Another sequel (sort of), Planet Raptor a.k.a.

Under normal circumstances an Anaconda sequel made for the Sci-Fi Channel would not elicit any degree of excitement of my part but when the sequel stars David Hasselhoff and the prospect of seeing "The Hoff" fight and possibly get eaten by a huge snake looms on the horizon, yeah, consider me officially interested.

Rounding out the cast are Crystal Allen, Patrick Regis, and Anthony Green in the prerequisite attractive female, token black, and handsome riverboat captain roles.
