Not as good as the L'il Quinquin, but close.
safsurfer5 July 2019
This Coincoin miniseries was a good watch and delivered on the comedy and social aspects but was not as engaging as the first series Quinquin. Maybe because the characters were fresher and younger in the first and in Cooincoin they are all about 8-10 years older maybe. The grownups don't change that much over time but the kids all did a lot. They're all now very late teens early 20's maybe. The premise of the series also lacked some credibility and reality where the first series was more mysterious and believable and the detectives had more of a road map to move the plot along where Coincoin was more fantastical, with aliens, and way more hi-jinx and slap stick, yet explored society and social subjects deeper, but still in that subliminal metaphorical way. I liked the series as a whole and watched till the end but would have liked it to be a little more centered and endearing as the first. You can only watch driving on two wheels so many times and it loses its effect.

Open a new direction of tv series

This tv series is like any feature movies by the director. If you follow his direction, you know what to expect. It is not surprise, but it is unnecessary. Look into the characters carefully, dive into their mind, enjoy the movie!

Just Brilliant

I guess you must be European (or at least Belgian or French) to really get that kind of Humour. It's no Brit Humour, neither American. Situations and Characters are hilarious and surrealistic. It's french but looks more like some belgian kind of Show. Just relax, don't expect Hollywood stuff. Don't look for coherence (that's not the point here) and enjoy. Coincoin is like an Albert Dupontel Movie (watch these too) or "Bernie" (around '80) but were all the actors would be Dupontel. Trust me, make the effort. It's worth it.

Twitching Eyebrows

It was so dumb I ff through most of it. A really poor Inspector Clouseau (lots of film time focused on twitching eyes, eyebrows) imitation slapstick taking place in a small French village with aliens coming to Earth as globs of black tar (or molasses if they hit someone), and then making a duplicate of that person. 75+% of the film time was simply repeating the same scenes, e.g. driving cars; guys checking out females (well, just the same two); lots of people standing walking, trivial conversations. No point, no ending.
