Caravaggio (2007 TV Movie)

Caravaggio's life, without great expectations
26 August 2018
Shooting a movie about the life of Michelangelo Merisi is not something easy to do, considering the complexity of the character. This movie, composed by two parts, tries to show his life and adventures, exploring the behaviour and the interiority of the painter. It is a good idea, however the movie doesn't show a high quality. The screenshot and the dialogues are poor, sometimesbanal. The actors are not so talented, although Alessio Boni is not bad in this role: he probably worked hard and his performance is appreciable. The set and the photography could have been better, but the worst thing is that the real history of Caravaggio is not respected enough. A typical italian product, still far from foreign productions.
