Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has cut an international distribution rights deal with Anchor Bay Entertainment to sell the indie's home entertainment library in new markets around the world.
The three-year deal includes worldwide distribution rights -- outside of the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom -- to various Anchor Bay catalog titles, including Hellboy Animated films; Manga Entertainment titles including Ghost In the Shell and the Streetfighter series; all 26 titles in the Masters of Horror series; six episodes in the Masters of Science Fiction series; and the pre-school hit Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!
Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay, a unit of Liberty Media Corp.'s Starz Media, said the deal with Sony Pictures will give his company "unbeatable access to international territories where we haven't previously had a strong presence."
Anchor Bay will work closely with Sony Pictures on all facets of marketing and sales.
