Tom Brady survived through his scorching Netflix roast, heralded as a major win for comedy.
The NFL legend was a good sport throughout the event, while comedians, including Nikki Glaser, Jeff Ross, and Tony Hinchcliffe, took a flamethrower to his personal life and career through the brilliance of comedic insults.
Some moments hit harder than any sack Brady likely experienced on the football field, and one instance featured Brady seemingly scolding a comedian about a joke that may have crossed the line.
And while the seven-time Super Bowl champion seemed to roll with the punches and even deliver a few of his own, he recently explained why he regretted his decision.
Speaking on his experience with the roast, Brady indicated he “loved” many of the jokes focused on him.
Despite the fun and laughs entertaining a massive live audience and many Netflix viewers, the retired NFL star revealed why he wouldn’t endure it again.

17,000 fans. The reunion of an American football dynasty and the coach no one expected to show. Televised live around the world while the reputation of a man considered “the greatest of all time” sits in the hands of savage comedians and one-time foes. What could go wrong?
But here we are, just days after Tom Brady took to the stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles for Sunday’s “The Greatest Roast of All Time,” and the walls are still standing. For decades roast comedy has been a beloved national tradition, once shepherded on TV by Comedy Central. It was a show that often targeted Hollywood legends or zeitgeist icons. It took the willingness of Brady, who holds a record 7 Super Bowl rings, to reinvigorate the format for streaming under host Kevin Hart. And not just any roast, which would typically be shot on a Hollywood backlot and edited ahead of its premiere.

Sunday’s live Tom Brady Netflix roast quickly made headlines when comedian Jeff Ross made a joke that alluded to Patriots owner Robert Kraft being charged with soliciting prostitution after an investigation into massage parlors in Florida.
Though Brady told Ross at the podium, “don’t say that shit again,” Ross now says the NFL star wasn’t that upset about the joke.
During the Netflix special, Ross said of Brady’s early days with the Patriots, “So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft‘s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made. Would you like a massage?’”
The joke seemed to be about a 2019 incident in which police said they had recorded Kraft paying for sex acts. He pleaded not guilty and...

The Roast of Tom Brady got people talking about some of the jokes and jabs that may have crossed the line.
Brady’s event featured an array of roasters, including comedians, friends like Kim Kardashian and Ben Affleck, and former teammates such as Rob Gronkowski.
His former coach, Bill Belichick, also got on stage to roast Brady with some clever lines.
It was a star-studded event that filled Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft even attended to support his friend and former star player.
At one point during the event, a comedian’s joke may have gone too far, though.

The Kia Forum hosted Netflix’s live special The Roast of Tom Brady on Sunday. Comedian Jeff Ross sparked an uncomfortable moment during his joke about New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and retired quarterback Tom Brady.
During his segment, Ross poked fun at Brady being the 199th NFL draft pick. “He sat there for days, waiting and waiting, and then you were finally picked in the sixth round when Bill Belichick’s dog stepped on the keyboard by accident,” Ross said.
Ross later said Brady told Kraft, “I’m the best decision your organization has ever made.” The audience laughed and applauded until Ross said, “Would you like a massage?”
The joke references Kraft’s 2019 Florida arrest for soliciting prostitution in a massage parlor. The charges were dropped a year later. Brady and the audience appeared uncomfortable. Brady sat front and center on stage while Kraft sat in the audience.

If there’s any truth to the old adage that history happens first as tragedy and then as farce, it was fitting that years of media sniping and public relitigation of the New England Patriots’ six Super Bowl wins culminated in Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Robert Kraft doing shots together at a Netflix comedy festival.

While Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was released back in 2013, no solid plan for a follow-up has been announced. However, this does not mean that Ron Burgundy is officially gone from the spotlight, as Will Ferrell looks to break out the character every now and then. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest instance of Burgundy’s mustachioed return came at the Netflix comedy special, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. Before Burgundy took the stage, he was introduced as “a living legend, a world-class lover and the No. 1 news anchor in all of Sunday.” Then, Ferrell sported a corduroy jacket and proceeded to joke, “My name is Ron Burgundy. I am a very big deal but tonight is not about me. …We are here to honor a champion of the gridiron, a great American, a father and a sexy man, a true patriot — until he was not.

Will Ferrell appeared at the Tom Brady roast Sunday night in character as his Anchorman persona, Ron Burgundy.
He was introduced as “a living legend, a world-class lover and the No. 1 news anchor in all of Sunday.”
“My name is Ron Burgundy,” he said. “I am a very big deal but tonight is not about me.… We are here to honor a champion of the gridiron, a great American, a father and a sexy man, a true patriot — until he was not.”
Burgundy started out by commenting on Brady’s good looks.
“This man is gorgeous.… Look at those cheekbones. That’s a million-watt smile right there.… I could get lost in those eyes and right now I am that person,” he said. “Ron, pull it together. You’re a straight man. He’s making you question your sexuality. Stop looking at him. You’re here to make fun of him.

Tom Brady was a good, um, sport Sunday night, where he was roasted about all aspects of his life, from his former marriage to Gisele Bündchen to his role in deflategate.

He went on to joke that the teleprompter should have included the qualifier “one of the” greatest quarterbacks ever in reference to Brady. “The greatest is Joe Montana,” he affirmed.
Hart also commented on the demographic makeup of the attendees inside the Kia Forum. “I’ve never seen Inglewood so white,” he quipped of the Los Angeles suburb where the venue is located. “It’s so fucking white in here. For his docuseries “The Dynasty: New England Patriots,” Matthew Hamachek had to do a little extra convincing to get some people to participate. One of those was Adam Vinatieri, the kicker responsible for the field goals that helped the Patriots clinch their first three Super Bowl victories. NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber Leo Tolstoy once wrote, “All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” That’s an apt summation of the New England Patriots during their championship run in the first two decades of this century. There were six Super Bowl wins, but everyone — particularly quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick — seemed to be on an endless deployment aboard the Hms Misery. Proud of their accomplishments? Absolutely. Enjoyed the ride? Not so much. Eventually, Brady jumped ship for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From the widespread fear that the repeal of Net Neutrality would eventually force us to pay a dollar for every Google search to the misguided belief that Matt Patricia would turn the Detroit Lions into an equally fearsome version of Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots dynasty, recent human history is filled with incorrect predictions and wild overreactions. But few false alarms rang louder than the Y2K frenzy, in which much of the world spent 1999 panicking that the new millennium would cause the technology that powered our society to instantly stop working once years started with 20 instead of 19. The fear was grounded in some semblance of reality, but any potential catastrophe was averted when the world’s top computer programmers worked together to resolve the problem before we closed the book on the 20th century.

Nick Saban, who ended his high-profile run as head football coach at the University of Alabama last month, is headed to ESPN.
The championship-winning coach will become a regular on the network’s popular show College GameDay and is also slated to appear elsewhere on ESPN, including on coverage of the NFL Draft this spring.
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the Saban signing and a slew of other news during the company’s fiscal first quarter earnings call.
Saban, 72, is already a recognizable figure on ESPN, whether in interviews, documentary programming or in commercials for insurance firm Aflac. Prior to Alabama, Saban coached at Toledo and Michigan State before winning a national title at Lsu, but he is best known for capturing six more titles in a 16-year run at Alabama. The usually taciturn former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick took out a full-page ad in Sunday’s Boston Globe, thanking fans for supporting him for a reign that included six Super Bowl championships
Belichick and the franchise parted ways in January after only making the playoffs once since Tom Brady left the organization to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Nowhere in America are pro sports fans as passionate as in New England and for 24 years, I was blessed to feel your passion and power,” Belichick’s letter read. “The Patriots are the only NFL team representing Six states, but in reality, Patriots Nation knows no borders.
“You were undaunted by weather, attended scorching hot training camp practices and braved Foxborough’s coldest, wettest, snowiest, and windiest days.… Your thoughtful letters offered support, critique and creative play suggestions. You watched on TV, the internet and from your stadium seats.

Well, that’s gotta hurt.
The National Football League isn’t officially saying anything yet, but the league just suffered a major loss – and we’re not talking about the woeful end of Bill Belichick’s reign at the New England Patriots.
Failing to get the nearly decade long antitrust lawsuit over the lucrative Sunday Ticket package thrown out of court, the Roger Goodell-run NFL is going to trial for potentially $6.1 billion just over a week after this year’s Super Bowl.
Rejecting the NFL’s request to dump the case, U.S. District Court Judge Philip Gutierrez on January 11 ordered the trial over non-competitive practices by the NFL to begin on February 22, to be specific.
Literally and figuratively, the only game in town for the NFL, the trial is expected to last about six weeks. If the NFL loses the case, big part of the blast radius of...

Let’s get this out of the way: The game is not on broadcast TV.* It’s not even on cable.
That’s right, a Saturday NFL wild card playoff game featuring last year’s Super Bowl champions, the walking highlight play that is Patrick Mahomes and (potentially) Taylor Swift will not be easily accessible for most Americans.
If you’re upset about the situation, you’re not alone. A New York congressman fired off an angry letter to NBC Sports and NFL executives this week, complaining that the move of Saturday’s Chiefs vs. Dolphins wild card game to air exclusively on a subscription streaming service was a “bait-and-switch” being played on consumers.
So where to find it? On streaming.

One day after Pat McAfee announced that Aaron Rodgers would not return on his sports talk show for the rest of the season, the football star made a surprise appearance to discuss NFL developments including Nick Saban’s retirement and Bill Belichick’s departure from the New England Patriots.
McAfee on Thursday suggested he received backlash for booting the NFL star off of his show. “That was wild, we were getting absolutely killed,” he said. “They were like, ‘You turned your back on Aaron Rodgers!’ Do you know how many things I’ve been through with Aaron Rodgers in our short relationship? I was not pumped to be in the middle of any of that.”
Before Rodgers returned, McAfee wrote in a lengthy post on X Wednesday night, “I never said he’ll never be on the show again. I hope he chooses to still chat with us.”

Aaron Rodgers made a return to The Pat McAfee Show a day after host Pat McAfee said the NFL star had completed his fourth season on the show.
Rodgers made an appearance on the ESPN show to give his take on Bill Belichick moving on from the New England Patriots.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the last human that Bill Belichick talked to on the field as the New England Patriots head coach — Aaron Rodgers,” McAfee said as he introduced the New York Jets quarterback.
As Rodgers appeared on screen, the Super Bowl champ asked if they could see him, with McAfee telling him he looked “fantastic” and “clearer than wherever you usually call us from.” Rodgers said he was “out here in the woods” as he confirmed his “off-season” had started.

One of the most successful coaches in American pro sports history is parting ways with the team he led to a half-dozen championships. Bill Belichick said during a news conference today that he is leaving the New England Patriots after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl wins in nine appearances.
“It’s with so many fond memories and thoughts that I think about the Patriots, and I’ll always be a Patriot,” he said at the presser. “I look forward to coming back here, but at this time, we’re gonna move on. And I’m excited for the future.”
ESPN reported that a deal with team owner Robert Kraft allowed Belichick to exit with a year remaining on his contract. Coming off a 4-13 season, its second consecutive losing record, the franchise now begins its first hunt for a head coach since the Clinton administration.

A dominant sports dynasty descends into a tense relationship between NFL coach Bill Belichick, star quarterback Tom Brady and team owner Robert Kraft in the trailer for Apple TV+’s The Dynasty: New England Patriots, which dropped on Tuesday.
The 10-part series from Imagine Documentaries is based on a best-selling book by Jeff Benedict and chronicles the rise and historic 20-year run of the Patriots during the celebrated Brady-Belichick-Kraft era. But the docu-series directed by Matthew Hamachek also exposes an apparent tense undercurrent surrounding the team.
“There’s things that were done that can’t be undone,” Brady says in an interview during one point in the trailer against game footage of Belichick tossing a water bottle in anger on the sidelines.
Benedict spent two years with the Patriots while writing his book, which was published in 2020. The filmmakers behind the Apple TV+ series also had access to the team during the 2021 season,...

The New England Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs from Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 17 with kickoff at 1 p.m. Et. The Patriots have struggled mightily this year. They’re 3-10 on the season, sitting dead-last in the AFC, but are coming off an upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-18. The Chiefs, meanwhile, sit first in the AFC West, with an 8-5 record, and are hoping to win out and give themselves a chance at a first-round bye. They haven’t helped their cause of late though, having lost two in a row, most recently to the Buffalo Bills in entertaining fashion when a late offside call negated the go-ahead touchdown for the Chiefs. They ended up losing 20-17.

Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” has unveiled first look images.
The series is a reimagining of the 2005 film starring Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie as Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith, respectively. In this iteration, Donald Glover (“The Martian”) stars as John Smith, while Maya Erskine (“PEN15”) stars as Jane Smith.
This new version features John and Jane both landing jobs working for an international spy agency where they must pose as spouses Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith. As they navigate a new mission each week, they find themselves falling in love with one another, complicating — and compromising — their “strictly business” relationship. Notably, this version features an intentional sham marriage between two strangers, as compared to the 2005 original, in which Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith were married without being aware of each other’s identity as an assassin.

The Indianapolis Colts still have a chance in the AFC South division, although they are currently in third place. The New England Patriots are seemingly out of it in the AFC East, but coach Bill Belichick will not let his team slack off despite a poor win-loss record. Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl victories, and now his storied career with the team will be dramatized for the screen.
Deadline reports that Oscar-nominated screenwriters Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson — who wrote the film “The Fighter” — are developing “The Patriot Way”, a scripted limited series based on the bestselling book 12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption, by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge.
“It’s a rich, character-driven story that probably will not be duplicated in our lifetime.”
“The Patriot Way” will tell the true story of Brady’s journey from sixth-round draft pick to his legendary run with the Patriots. In addition, the series will also touch on the various controversies to dog the team during Brady’s tenure as quarterback, including Aaron Hernandez’s murder trial, the Spygate and Deflategate scandals, and Brady’s clashes with coach Bill Belichick.

Tom Brady is considered to be one of the greatest NFL players of all time, and now that he’s retired (for good this time), he’s about to be the focus of a scripted limited TV series.
Deadline reports that Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson, who wrote The Fighter, are developing The Patriot Way. The series, which is based on 12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge, will chronicle “Brady’s improbable rise from sixth-round NFL draft pick to his half-dozen Super Bowl wins with the Patriots, the Aaron Hernandez, Spygate and Deflategate scandals and Brady’s battle of wills with head coach Bill Belichick.” As Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are public figures, the writers say it will allow them “the freedom to tell the story without a filter.”
The project was first announced back in 2017, but at that time,...

All eyes were on Kansas City this past Sunday when Taylor Swift pulled up to the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears. Since then, Swifties have become fascinated with tight end Travis Kelce, whom the pop star has been rumored to be dating lately. Travis Kelce is seemingly feeling the love from Taylor Swift’s legion of devoted fans.
Just one day after Swift came out to cheer him on at Arrowhead Stadium, as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Chicago Bears, sales of Kelce’s No. 87 jersey have reportedly shot through the roof.
The NFL’s official e-commerce partner Fanatics told TMZ on Monday that Kelce “was one of the top 5 selling NFL players and saw a nearly 400 percent spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites.”
Meanwhile, Front Office Sports reports that Kelce’s jersey has overtaken Chiefs’ quarterback and recent Super Bowl Mvp Patrick Mahomes in terms of sales.
While it’s not definitive that Swifties are the reason for the sudden spike, it does come after Swift’s appearance at the game, where she was decked out in Chiefs gear, as she hung out and enthusiastically cheered for Kelce alongside his mom,...
