The Facility (2012)
Potential wasted
There was a very solid acting group here. Which I think is what draws you in from the beginning. But actors can only work with what they are given. Here it isn't much. You should recognize a familiar face in one of the actors as he just played a very decent agoraphobic father bent on saving his daughter. But there are too many moments in this film that leave you scratching your head and wondering "What? Why did this just happen?" Or worse, "Why didn't this just happen?" Those to questions haunt you through the film until it becomes a race to see if you can stand watching until the end. Honestly it was a good production team coupled with a great acting team wasted on a story that just wasn't there. I guess if you are one of those people that are literally obsessed with medical horror maybe. But even that is a stretch. Avoid this film but check out what else the cast has done. Because I can tell you it is better than this film.
GhostWatcher (2002)
This movie was utter garbage, Don't waste your time or money on it
I knew this movie was going to be crap when I saw that it had been filmed using the same handy-cam that I use for family events. The acting was really bad and at times made no sense. The only scene that I thought was remotely worth watching was when you briefly see the "Killer" in a flash of cheesy lightning. I would only recommend this film if your only other entertainment option was watching paint dry, and even then you would had to tick me off really bad. I personally can't figure out how there could be a sequel to this movie. There was nothing worth watching the first time what on earth could have inspired the second go-round?
Wolf Creek (2005)
Good movie
I thought that this movie was surprisingly good. I liked the fact that the director took the time to build up all of the characters so that you actually saw that they were real people. I also liked the fact that the women in this film weren't just "boobs on a stick" to quote from the movie. I thought that it was funny that while I knew that I was watching a horror film before the action I really was content to just sit back and watch these people on their road trip. They were interesting people, a lot more real than Hollywoods version of what a twenty something should be. Very refreshing. If you are looking for a movie that doesn't seem to take the hour and forty minutes it's supposed to this is it. It even still makes me what to go to Austrailia.
12 Angry Men (1957)
Wonderful thought provoking story
When I was in junior high school I found this story in the back of one of the unused books in English. I can remember being so enthralled with the story that I read it all through class and then took it home to finish. Seeing a true to the story film version is wonderful. Didn't they really know what acting was about back then? When the acting had to stand out because that was what you came to see. Man I love the golden age of film. If you liked this then check out DOA that's another wonderful flick with a good message. I think that 12 Angry Men really showcases what being on a jury can be like. It generates feelings for these men and their story and it really does say a lot about the justice system.
Eaten Alive (1976)
This is based on a real life account
The premise for this movie is based on fact. A long time ago a man by the name of Joe, who owned a dinner down in the south United States, actually did keep a pet crocodile in behind the restaurant. It was known as a sort of local joke until waitresses started to go missing. When the police began to investigate they killed the croc and opened it and found human remains. You might view this movie differently after knowing that it was based on some fact. Funny coincidence that Tobe Harper based two of his movies on actual killers. The Texas Chainsaw massacre was based on Ed Gein in part and a few other serial killers thrown in. Although from what I've read there was actually a family that became murderous in Texas after several years of inbreeding.
