Don't Look Up (2021)
Dont waste your time
I'm sorry but I'm a little confused. Is it a disaster movie...because it's a little dull, boring, non eventful. Is it a comedy....because I haven't laughed once. It just feels a bit like one of those parody movies, like Scary Movie....just taking the mickey out of a disaster movie. Poor Leo. Totally wasted in this movie.
The Game (1997)
Don't waste your time
An hour into this film, I turned it off as I was fed up with waiting for it to get interesting. I was expecting this to be a fast paced, thriller/edge of your seat kind of film. Instead I found it 'lie back and have a couple of hours rest' kind of film. I'm not the biggest fan of Michael Douglas anyway, controversial i know, but i think he's a terrible actor. This film just proves it. Apart from waiting for it to get tense/interesting, it just has so many 'wtf' moments that I just couldn't keep up. The hotel room with the porn and the coke was the deal breaker where I thought 'Where's the 'off' button'??
I guess people have to watch it to make up their own mind but....don't say we didn't warn you ... :(
#Captured (2017)
Why did I buy this?!
This sounded quite good so bought it on Sky Store. Watched the first 20 minutes and couldn't stand how it was shot, like from a handheld camera kind of thing. (Think Blair Witch). I fast forwarded through it and in the 1st 45 minutes I think I counted at least 4 pairs of naked boobs. (Guessing this film isn't aimed at women then?!) Fast forwarded through the whole film and didn't see anything that made me remotely want to play it and see what was happening. Watched the last 30 seconds where a guy shot himself, and wasn't even interested in why. (I guessed he was the guy that was killing everyone?) All in all, I can't exactly give it a proper rating as I didn't watch it all, but the bit I saw was enough.
Addicted (2014)
Not a movie I would choose to watch more than once
Some films, I could watch over and over. This is not one of them. Basic plot, woman addicted to sex, finds handsome men to do it with, pretty vanilla actually compared to what I thought it would be. Husband (who is absolutely gorgeous!!!) is the dutiful husband, taking care of the kids while wife is "working late". The last half hour was a bit unexpected but sympathy was lacking. Then obviously a relatively "happy ending" once the reason for her "addiction" is revealed. All in all, its not a bad film, but I wouldn't say its good. Its good if you want to see a lot of gorgeous people, quite a bit of sex, and a sub par storyline. (p.s. Not one to watch on a Sunday afternoon with your granny) haha.
To Have and to Hold (2019)
Watchable.... Once.
This film was ok but having read the info I thought it was going to be a tense, mild-thriller type movie about a controlling husband. I waited for him to become this controlling psycho... And waited... And waited. He controls her to a point but not as much as I was expecting. All in all, bit of a dull movie. Great ending but slightly boring and nothing really happens.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)
Love it
This film is brilliant. Completely wasn't what I expected, the characters that they play when they get sucked into the game are such a surprise and then the way they play them is brilliant. Jack Black and Dwaye are absolutely fantastic in playing their roles. It's an exciting film, some funny bits and all in all, a film I'll definitely watch again. 🙂
Fear Bay (2019)
Gripping in parts
I dont really know what to say with this one. It was ok in parts, gripping, but really far fetched in others. It did end a little non-conclusive... Or rather, a little twisty. Passed some time anyway so, an extra star for that. Acting was OK, I mean c'mon, these are not high budget movie stars for crying out loud. They all played their parts OK. Although, for me, the Jury is still out on the policeman....
Look Away (2018)
Only gave it one star as I can't give it zero.
Terrible film. The whole premise of this film sounded good, i thought it would be a real 'on the edge of your seat' type thriller. The only reason I was on the edge of my seat was because I was getting ready to run off into another room. Absolutely awful film. So slow, like you're constantly waiting for something big to happen. And it doesn't. Way too much nakedness of a young girl in it for my liking. It didn't add to the story so was pointless. The murder scenes were a bit quick, no suspense just happened and no repurcussions and no one mentioned them afterwards. The main girl was a good actress, played the creepy girl quite well, but everyone else was terrible. Don't waste your time. I'm sorry I chose this film to watch at my friends house. Not only did I waste my time, I wasted hers too.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
Why can't I give this movie a minus rating?!
Ok, I had to come on here to see the reviews to see if I'm the only one that thinks bad of this film, but it seems not. There is so much mumbling in this movie, being hard of hearing, I found it difficult to watch to the point I gave up (which was about half an hour in).
The acting is absolutely appalling, the stilted dialogue is terrible, the storyline so far is just crap. If I wasn't watching with other people it would have been turned off. Before writing this review, I just spent the last ten minutes staring at the ceiling, which was a lot more exciting.
Seriously awful film, Vince should be ashamed he played a part in this. I can't express this any stronger, if you're thinking of watching it, DONT!! You have been warned.
Cheat (2019)
Quite gripping
Had me a little confused in parts with the backwards and forwards but first episode was good. Looking forward to the rest.
The Nun (2018)
If I could give this a 'minus' rating I would.
All these people saying how terrifying it was are either VERY easily scared or were high when watching. A few bits made me jump but that was more because my friend kept screaming when it made her jump. Wasn't tense, was boring and terryfingly dull. Don't watch it.
