Monk: Mr. Monk's 100th Case (2008)
If you have ever SPOKEN to a SF Native you would know NEVER
EVER to refer to San Francisco as "Frisco" It BURNS our hide...AND it's "Highway 101" NOT "The 101" as LA and SOUTHERN California refer to Interstate 101. In MONK they OFTEN refer to "101" as "THE" 101..NO Northern California native would ever call it "the 101" It bothers me and again..NEVER EVER call our Beautiful City by The Bay "Frisco" As we were taught why would anyone want to shorten such a beautiful name like SAN FRANCISCO. Enjoy MONK as it is one of my FAV silly police shows. MONK has so many fun characters. MY FAV was "Kevin Dorfman" I was very surprised when they killed him off. He was delight and made me laugh so much. I also like Harold Krenshaw. And when his first DR's son was buried alive with MONK, you saw that his beloved DR was human too!!
Letters to God (2010)
They try to manipulate your emotions
This movie COULD have been real inspiring. If you have ever lost a loved one to cancer, you will be moved to tears, even though its WAY over acted with it's emotional pulling at your heart string acting. I am a Christian, but I found myself saying out loud to my twelve year old daughter, who lost her beloved Uncle (My brother) to cancer when she was six years old, 'This is WAY too over the top". Lets look at the positive: They family unit was so strong, which you don't see very often in movies. Also, the support that the neighbors and school mates gave to the family was inspiring. I just wish I didn't feel so manipulated by this show.
Spanglish (2004)
Spanglish SUCKED
I was very disappointed in this movie. Honestly I think it will not make a lot of money. The reviews were awful, but I love Adam Sandler and said "Heck, it couldn't be that bad" Well, I was WRONG! Adam Sandler seemed like he was sleepwalking through this film. Cloris Leachman was good but Tea Leoni was just plain IRRITATING! The daughter was so over the top it was embarrassing! AND by the end of the film you forgot all about the second child! AND the "nanny" was awful in trying to communicate by only using facial expressions! There was ONE part that was good and it's towards the end with nanny and father (A Sandler) on the beach talking! Beware...
Time After Time (1979)
What a fun movie
I saw this movie with 8 friends while a Freshman in High School. I love the thought of time traveling and this movie made it somewhat believable. . I also noticed the on camera romance that was really happening between Malcolm and Mary (They later married and had 2 children but divorced 10 years later)
After seeing this movie 4 times I started researching Jack the Ripper and later became a speech major and presented many speeches theorizing who was Jack the Ripper. Then went on to police work. I love a good mystery! Anyway, it's fun and entertaining even after 25 years! Too bad Hollywood doesn't make more time travel movies. Back to the Future was fun too!
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
The worst movie of the Century
This is the worst movie I have ever seen! It rips off "The Wizard of Oz" "ET" "Schindler's List" it was unbearable and it just makes me want to cry thinking about "IN search of the blue fairy" WHAT THE HECK??? In my life time I have never seen such poop. I passed out just thinking about how HIDEOUS this movie was! It lasted for 2 weeks in San Jose and QUIETLY disappeared! It didn't even go to the dollar theatre! I would rather have a root canal then sit thru this piece of "work" NOT even worthy of 1 star! Negative infinity stars!!!!!! If you dare to to watch this piece of doo doo I feel for you ! I can not believe they expect ten lines for a review on IMDb!
Rescue Me (2004)
Please don't
I have never been a fan of Leary's but this series was done so well that I felt I was watching an actual documentary. I did police work for 3.5 years and was the only female so I can relate to a lot of these comments made by the macho fire fighters. I read that Leary's cousin was a firefighter who died in the line of duty in 1999 .I wonder if he talks to his cousin like he does in the series. It was so odd that I had a feeling he is living like his character (in a lot of turmoil) If anyone has ever worked in a high stress public service job you can easily relate to these people. I will be watching this show faithfully and look forward to many more.
