X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
Did they even watch previous movies?
How did you do a movie that conflicts every single movie that was made in this franchise before? Someone must've thought "forget the storyline, make a movie by the name of the comic book. It will sell anyway." This should be the main idea behind this movie.
The Final Table (2018)
Great show till finale
At the beginning of the finale all nine judges agreed that the given time will not be enough to come up with a signature dish. Three of the four finalist came up with original ideas, great combinations and bold moves. However, an American chef, who cooked his restaurant's on the menu item, won in an American show aired on an American streaming service. Is he a good chef? Of course! But, and it's a huge but, if this is a fine dining competition including some Michelin star chefs, and you eliminated almost all of them (except Mr. Shane) the dish has to be authentic. What Mark and Darren did was fantastic. They though out of the box and put their knowledge and experience into a dish that many don't think it works. Shane tried to be as simple and delicate and yet came up with an original idea. But the fourth dish besides these three, in my opinion, didn't deserve the win.
Venom (2018)
For a startup movie, it was pretty good
It is pretty good if you consider it as a character development movie. The downside perhaps is the lack of comedy which I expected to see in a Venom story. There was some for sure, here and there, but not enough. However, as mentioned, this is the first movie out of probably at least three. We may have more of Venom causticity. Transform scenes were very well made, car chase in San Francisco worth watching as always. Tom Brady did hell of a job, do not bother reading bad reviews about his acting. Give it a chance, if you don't have very high expectations.
Mortal Engines (2018)
Graphically outstanding, but not so much on storytelling
First thing first, the graphics, the cgi crew did an outstanding job in this post apocalyptic steampunk world. Second, the story is promising, with a few plotholes which might be filled if there was more time(?). It should've been better with this original idea, however, it lacks on details. I believe it was designed that way to increase the curiosity to the main characters but less and less details make the viewer loose interest.
Thr movie develops a quite good interest in the first part, wondering about the world, how they started to move the cities, what is beyond the wall, why they live near it, rtc. But, you won't see much about these in the peak of the story or anywhere near the conclusion. With all being said, it worth watching for the originality, and of course, for the graphics.
And please, please guys, a happy ending doesn't have to include a young adult couple.
The Protector (2018)
As the first Turkish Netflix series, it's good, but need to be better.
Just binge watched the first season. The story is good, unlike the other Turkish super hero movies. The visual effects could be better but I believe next season, if there will be any, they will fix it. The reason I give 9/10 is to respect the courage and hard work that was put into this project. If the crew wants to keep the high rating, they need to correct their mistakes (like in a scene, one was talking on the phone while it's in the menu) and keep their effort in highest possible.
