The Vow (2012)
It's OK
This movie is OK for me. It's not a tearjerker by any means. I was expecting more from this movie since it did so well in the theatres. I think this falls in the typical Rachel's movie character (notebook, traveller's wife). As far as Channing, I don't know how he got this role because he was not that great. I get it he was trying to channel his emotional side but it just doesn't work for me. I do not like him in this kind of role.
I hated the storyline as well. Channing signs the divorce papers without much of a fight. Rachel conveniently regains her memory except for his life with Tatum. This movies is a rental in my opinion.
This Means War (2012)
Enjoyed this movie
I have to say that I quite enjoyed this movie. In my opinion Chris and Tom were casted perfectly for the roles that they had. They were funny and it didn't seem as if they were trying too hard. Reese was great as well. There were enough action scenes and just enough romance for both a guy and girl to watch it. I'm surprised that this movie didn't do that great in the theatres because it's pretty good. Chelsea was hilarious in this movie and I would say this something I would rent when it comes on DVD.
Chris Pine surprised me here as I have not seen him in other movies rather than Star Trek. This guy deserves more credibility in Hollywood in my opinion and he's not bad to look at either. I quite liked Reese' portrayal of Lauren and somehow she manages to seem so youthful and relevant in her character.
Midnight in Paris (2011)
Truly enjoyed the film
I wasn't sure at first with this movie but when I started watching it I was hooked. I have only seen a few Woody Allen film but this one is definitely one of my favourite so far.
Owen Wilson was perfect playing Gil. On the other hand, McAdams was completely unbearable playing her part. I have seen her act better than this but I think she was miscast. Michael Sheen was totally underused here. He is such a great actor and I think Allen could have done more with his character. Cottilard was perfect and so believable. I think if anything she stole the show as usual.
What I love about this movie is the storyline itself. There is something so authentic about it but takes you to pure art fantasy. Seeing Paris through this movie just makes you want to go there and get on the magical car at midnight and meet all the world renowned artist from the past.
This movie is a must see. Wood Allen almost never disappoint. A movie that's fun and and mystical.
The Chosen One (2010)
What a waste of money and time
My husband and I rented this movie. I knew right away this movie would be bad but we decided to get in anyway.
I can't even begin to tell you how awful this movie is. I get what Schneider is trying to accomplish but seriously this movie was so painful to watch. I think I fell asleep 45 min into the movie.
This movies has absolutely no purpose. I think there was only one slightly funny scene with Buscemi and the woman that plays his mother. Other than that there was nothing.
I don't even know most of the actors in this movie. This movie was a complete snore fest.
Do not rent this movie.
