All Creatures Great & Small: All's Fair (2020)
It's just a series with familiar named characters
Does not follow the stories of Herriot except in a vague way. Lots of side story additions that are not about creatures great and small but about people, like people everywhere throughout time. Nothing original there. At best I can say it's not bad.
Death Valley Days: Lola Montez (1955)
Been Watching TV since the days of Howdy Doody
This is the absolute worst production, acting(she was horrible), sets, etc. I have ever seen...movies, TV or Play
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
I laughed a LOT
From the multicultural sappy opening....to the multicultural sappy ending I laughed about a dozen times cause it was so bad. Initially we are led to believe our petty differences are behind us then we in Africa and fearing for our lives cause of warlords the most petty of terrorists. Whatever. My favorite part was when Jasmine...NOW a doctor falls into the abyss. See ya Mom. Watch it for nostalgia just don't expect anything as good as "My Mother the Car"
Love Actually (2003)
Too much of some not enough of the other
There were several good story lines. The movie would have been much better without the Liam Neeson and Laura Linney stories. The fake porn people could of been dropped too. Next get rid of the dumb guy that goes to Wisconsin and finally fewer pictures of the skinny girl smiling. Bill was great, Hugh and thunder thighs were great and the Portuguese story was great.
Fear the Walking Dead (2015)
Weak...very weak
I was not surprised to see the parents as teachers with dysfunctional children. A kid brings a knife to school...the teacher covers for him...after all it is only a small knife...then lets him go.Really? NO WONDER her son is a dolt. Lots of previously seen characters. Now drugs are so cool you can see the future...CLUE...you cannot see the future no matter. I was hoping that the whole family would get it in the first episode. TWD grabbed me from the start this did not. It was nice to see that Hollywood has not forsaken the "fall down while running and looking backward gambit" I hope it gets better cause I want to be entertained they have 5 episodes to go.
Home Run (2013)
A really fine production
What people don't like is the use of God and Faith as something that provides strength. Why anyone would find this objectionable mystifies me. If you have a serious problem that affects your life and the life of your family and friends and you can stop your bad behavior by taking strength from the Lord why is that bad? It isn't. What it is is the free thinkers thinking for you. See the movie unless God makes you barf.
The movie was well acted with good production. The kids are cute, the girls are cute and even the old jalopy cars have nice wheels. What I found objectionable was using the police as the bad guy. Why not use another alcoholic dad. The show was a little long and the star was just to handsome but the girls like that.
Goon (2011)
Could have been better if
Jay Baruchel had not been in the movie or his character had been much less of an annoying fan boy. This movie had a good premise but no one is going to take a player and put them on ice if they can't skate.
There was one locker room scene with the Russian's and the goalie's helmet that was too long and that time might have been used to explore different facets of the hero's life and relationships.
The fight scenes were over the top. No one can take as many blows as our hero or the patsies he pummeled. I can see why they were done that way....Jay Baruchel knows no better.
Not to say there wasn't lots of good stuff here and if your are a hockey fan it needs to be on your list.
I enjoyed the love story and found it plausible
Drive Angry (2011)
Devil Worship trying to be cool
Gee Whiz Wally. Here we have a movie where the hero drives off into the sunset in a cool car to Hell. There is nothing cool about Hell, the devil or anything about this movie. If you missed that part I know how you vote. A disgrace on everyone involved with this big drippy turd. And Yes I am making a judgement with no apologies. Has Nicolas Cage become king of the B or C movies or does he just like money? My guess is he has no idea what he is doing anymore. I did enjoy he driving thru the desert as a flaming skeleton but this is a mile below that. No cool guns no cool cars no cool heroes no cool chicks just a big pink dildo of a movie
Wild Hogs (2007)
OK movie but
why must every movie that is about male stuff be chocked full of homosexual reference. Who's writing this stuff? Is it homosexuals that want to be straight? The movie would have been better if the gay references would have been left out because it did nothing to further the plot.
I liked the movie for what it was a comedy. It could have been better if more time had been spent on the wife aspect because that is truly what bikers guys such as these have to deal with. They don't have to deal with queer cops and funny looking fey singers.
Ray Liotta was real good and seeing Peter Fonda was great. They way the movie ended was fun but once again the gay aspect tarnished what was to me a novel approach to the credits.
The House Next Door (2006)
Ho Ho Ho ....What a dog
I read the book a long time back and don't specifically remember the plot but do remember that I enjoyed it. Since I'm home sick on the couch it seemed like a good idea and Hey !! It is a Lifetime movie.
The movie is populated with grade B actors and actresses.
The female cast is right out of Desperate Housewives. I've never seen the show but there are lots of commercials for the show and I get the gist. Is there nothing original anymore? Sure, but not on Lifetime.
The male cast are all fairly effeminate looking and acting but the girls need to have husbands I suppose.
In one scene a female is struggling with a male, for her life, and what does she do??? Kicks him in the testicles. What else? Women love that but let me tell you girls something... It's not as easy as it's always made to look.
It wasn't all bad. I did get the chills a time or two so I have to credit someone with that.
Firewall (2006)
How many times are they going to make this movie?
How do these movies get made? I've seen this plot so many times it's become a joke. How many times has Harrison Ford done it as well? Dad saves family/Mom saves family from mean bastards. Enough PLEASE! A recent example is Panic Room.
Harrison Ford is a fine actor but he is not believable as a 6o something father to an 8 year old. And how often do we see the dissatisfied daughter calling here parents by their first name? OK the bad guys are pretty rote as well. All mean except for one that helps the family and for his troubles he gets a bullet.
Do yourself a favor and rent anything other than this refried piece of horrible trash.
The Skeleton Key (2005)
Skip this dog
Kate Hudson can't carry a movie. I watched the movie reluctantly after reading what it was about on Direct TV, I like a good thriller but it wasn't that at all. It was a disjointed.... I've seen it all before concoction and anyone that thought the ending was a surprise hasn't watched very many movies. It was just plain bad. I found myself continually saying...Chick get out of there and get a life. Then when she drove her VW Beetle into the mammoth gates...I broke out laughing. I could never figure out why it was so important for her to get that dude out.... If you want a good movie of this type Denzel Washington did one a few years back..... Fallen (1998) Skip this piece of cheese.
The Prince & Me (2004)
Stay Away unless your a ditz
There MAYBE SPOILERS AHEAD!!
This is one bad piece of film. The movie was loaned to me at work and last night I finally watched it.
Maybe Julia Stiles can act but in this movie she exuded no warmth whatsoever.
The hero Luke.....man if that's what leading men are reduced to these days.....
If your girlfriend wants you to go see it? Get a new girlfriend cause she's got no brains.
The first five minutes are really bad as things get setup...The movie gets better til the couple are busted in the library making kissy face.
It deteriorates from there til the final scene when Prince states he will wait for her through (spoiler) and whatever else she wants to do cause he loves her so much, RALPH!!
Bad Bad Bad STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!
Ahumado
1 out of 10 stars
Earthquake (1974)
Cheesy
Lorne Green as Ava Gardner's father? Did I get that right? Worth watching too see Pam Ewing aka Victoria Principal. She showed more acting ability though then she ever did on Dallas
The effects were bad...Hey Man! I want more camera shake!
Marjoe Gortner? When did he work last?
Lots of sterotyping going on. George Kennedy is always a cop. Good period piece though to see what people were wearing.
Really though as far as disaster movies go this wasn't much of a disaster. Unless you consider cramming a movie lot with lots of styrofoam bricks and concrete.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
This is a good entertaining movie
You won't waste your time seeing this. Having all the fictional characters was a good idea. The Nautilus was WAY TOO BIG as was Nemo's beard. I could tell the location(London,Mongolia) scenes were phony.
It would have been better received if the fictional characters were more well known and more recent. Fortunately I knew who they all were which was a plus.
