Titanic (1997)
Amazing
'Titanic' is an excellent film by director James Cameron, and is a timeless classic. Titanic is very historically-accurate, yet the movie itself is also amazing. Kate Winslet stars as Rose, a spoiled rich 17-year-old girl who rides on the Titanic with her first class mother. Rose fall in love with a boy named Jack (Leonardo DiCapprio), to her mother's (and her fiancée's) great disapproval. The end is tragic and heartbrEaking, yet beautiful. Winner of Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 1997, 'Titanic' is a true masterpiece, and will be enjoyed by anyone who watches it.
Rating: PG-13 for disaster-related peril and violence, nudity, sensuality, and brief language; 14A (CAN)
Scrubs (2001)
Great!
'Scrubs' is a very funny TV series that stars Zach Braff as J.D., an intern at Sacred Heart hospital. He and his immature friend Dr. Turk solve medical mysteries, crack jokes, and have stupid fun, while they on occasion go off into daydreams. 'Scrubs' is at times very stupid, yet is always hilarious, especially returning characters such as The Janitor and Dr. Cox. All-in-all, 'Scrubs' is a great show that is a very funny, meaningful, and irreverent medical comedy, all at the same time. If you like light-hearted comedies, then I would recommend 'Scrubs to you.

Futurama (1999)
A great TV show
'Futurama' is a great TV show by creator/animator Matt Groening. The show was originally released in 1999, and was discontinued in 2003. The main characters are Fry (a sloppy delivery boy who couldn't care less), Leela (a one-eyed alien woman), Bender (an obnoxious robot who steals things), and Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (an old man who is Fry's great, great, great, great etc. nephew). The plot revolves around Fry, a 25-year-old delivery boy who is frozen... and thawed out 1000 years later. New York City in the year 3000 is much, much different, and Fry soon befriends a robot named Bender, and a one-eyed alien named Leela. And so their four-season-long adventures begin.

Family Guy: Stewie Kills Lois (2007)
Sick
I believe 'Family Guy' to be an offensive, disgusting show, with loads of crude humor in each and every scene. Though I have to say moments of this episode were very funny, I felt guilty laughing at the stupidity and offensiveness of it. Stewie, an evil genius 1-year-old bent on killing his mother, Lois, finally gets the deed done in this episode....we think. The shooting was very, very comically bloody, and other parts of the episode were inappropriate as well. Though this show is animated, beware. That makes it even worse, in my opinion. Disgusting, crude, offensive, and sometimes funny, this TV episode (and the show as well) is definitely not for all tastes.

Braveheart (1995)
A breathtaking film
'Braveheart' is an excellent movie about Scottish rebel William Wallace fighting for the freedom of his nation in the 13th Century. Mel Gibson stars, and does a superb job acting-wise. The director of 'Braveheart' is also Mel Gibson, which is even more amazing. A true story, 'Braveheart' is sure to blow you away, but be careful, this film contains much bloody violence. I would recommend 'Braveheart' to everyone except the squeamish, and I truly believe that it is a masterpiece in acting and directing, as well as a very entertaining movie.
Rated: R for brutal medieval warfare, 18A (CAN)
The Simpsons: Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part Two (1995)
A great episode of the simpsons
'Who Shot Mr. Burns" is episode 1 in Season 7 of the Simpsons. I think this episode is a great, classic Simpsons episode, and greatly (if not predictably) concludes the cliffhanger which was 'Who Shot Mr. Burns Pt. 1'. Very funny scenes are included, and are the kind which are classic in this TV show. Mr. Burns, Homer's boss, was shot in Pt. 1, and in Pt. 2 it is discovered that he is still alive. At the beginning of the episode, Mr. Burns' secretary Weyland Smithers believes that he is the murderer, but after some shocking evidence...well, you'll just have to watch it yourself. Overall, 'Who Shot Mr. Burns Pt. 2' is a great episode of The Simpsons.

Across the Universe (2007)
A powerful film
'Across the Universe' is a powerful musical in which all songs are by The Beatles. Excellent singing and creative, artistic choreography and costume design make this movie definitely worth watching. 'Come Together', 'I Want to Hold Your Hand', and the wonderful yet tear-jerking 'Let it Be' are just a few of the memorable songs. 'Across the Universe' is about an illegal British immigrant (Jude) from Liverpool (hmmmm...) who comes to America in search of his father. Jude makes friends at a prestigious college, and falls in love with one of his friends sister. Jude moves to New York City where many loose ends from random musical numbers are tied up. You'll have to see the movie to find out what happens in the end.
Rating: PG-13 for some drug content, nudity, sexuality, violence, and language. (CAN) 14A violence, nudity, language.
Rent (2005)
Just OK
I found 'Rent' to be a mediocre if not disappointing musical. The music from it is superb, yet the actual movie/storyline is definitely below average. If I had to recommend three songs, I would probably choose 'Rent', 'One Song Glory', and 'Tango: Maureen'. 'Rent' is one of those musicals where the soundtrack outclasses the movie itself. Unless you are really intrigued, do not see the movie, but definitely get the soundtrack.
Rating (US): PG-13 for mature thematic material involving drugs and sexuality, and for language.(CAN): PG for disturbing content, mature theme
Forrest Gump (1994)
An incredible film
'Forrest Gump' is one of those movies that will blow you away from your living room, and into the world of the title character. Tom Hanks does a superb job in acting as the simple-minded man Forrest Gump whose positive look on life and whose kind friendliness will grasp your emotion. Jenny, Lieutenant Dan, and even Bubba are all characters that are well-done enough to blow you away. This movie is truly a classic, and I would personally recommend it to anyone. 'Forrest Gump' is not in the least bit like any other movie I have seen, and though some parts are very sad, happiness amounts in the end. 'Forrest Gump' is a true cinematic masterpiece.
Rating: PG-13 for drug content, some sensuality, and war violence
The Simpsons: The Day the Violence Died (1996)
Excellent episode of The Simpsons
'The Day the Violence Died' is, in my opinion, an excellent episode of The Simpsons, and contains loads and loads of Itchy and Scratchy. Bart and Lisa find a bum on the street who claims to be the true creator of Itchy and Scratchy, and they help him gain ownership of the Itchy and Scratchy corporation. To see how it goes, you'll have to watch it yourself. This is a great episode of The Simpsons, and has laughs galore. 'The Day the Violence Died' is probably in my top 15 favorite episodes of The Simpsons, and if you like humor and a satirical take on how America is entertained by violence, then I'd recommend this episode to you.
