The Heiress (1949)
I have seen a lot of movies but this is only one movie where I wanted to give it a 11/10 rating.
Surpassed my expectations across the board. Acting, Story, Relatibility, Direction, Script, everything is phenomenal. The last scene of her ascending the stairs was so powerful It made my jaw drop. Remarkable movie. I will be forever thankful for the people who made it.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
A review from a common honest man
All the psuedu intellectuals will praise it. I'm a common man and I tell it like it is. This movie had not real plot or direction. I was not rooting for any of the characters. Dialogues were the only part that kept me hooked but I will be honest just because it was clever doesn't necessarily mean it had the greatest dialogues ever. Talking about direction, screenplay and cinematography. I found some things to be really unique. The way some things were done or shown. The acting was also great. And that's about it. The second half of the movie got a little tedious and I fell asleep. What I'm trying to say is it's a little too long which I think was unnecessary. My verdict - Dialogues 7/10, Acting 7/10 Camera work and direction - 6/10, Story - 3/10. Overall - 5.75/10 rounding it up to 6/10.
Chernobyl (2019)
Wow just wow! HBO does it again!
Where do I start? This show is incredible. Only watched two episodes so far. And I usually don't review tv shows but I had to write a review for this. The plot is based on something awful which really happened. The actors are phenomenal. The writing is so good. And the cinematography and direction has surpassed all of my expectations. Of course it has to be a big budget miniseries considering the way it has been shot and the set design and every visual detail and props. I mean I'm doubtful if big Hollywood studios can make a film this good. Considering it's a TV series and that too on HBO I have to admit HBO excels at most of its shows. They don't churn out mediocre shows like Netflix but when they do you're going to witness something awesome. 10/10 A Must watch!
Karwaan (2018)
Had potential but pretty average and lackluster
I give it 6/10. The music was great the locations were picturesque, the cast were nice. The story was different but lackluster. Somehow the set ups, dynamics between people, the reactions and the expressions of the characters didn't come off as believable at certain points of the movie. A lot of the times just to make a "pretty looking" movie they stopped caring for a compact story and good screenplay. music has been used as a buffer/distraction to hide inadequacies of the script. I also felt the cinematography was ditto to a lot of hollywood movies. I found it to be very pretentious. They should have changed the format to make it a little indian or different. Yes this movie had a lot of potential but just fell flat. But that doesn't mean i don't appreciate movies like this. I would rather watch these kinds of movies than glitzy and glamorous bollywood movies. That's why I give it a 6 out of 10.
Mulholland Dr. (2001)
This movie tastes like paracetamol but in your brain. bitter and yuck
I'm going to call a spade a spade okay? Ahhhhh... Say whatever you want to say about this movie, but i will stand my ground saying this movie is complete trash, it's bizarre, surreal in a bad way....random for no good reason. and the expectation drivel that you guys are talking about over and over again and catching the audiences off guard is not something that should be praised highly like you did for a movie like this. The whole movie is confusing with a stupid plot. correction, there's hardly any plot just a collage of half connected boring stories. Enough with all pretense to make this movie seem so grandiose. It's not. This movie actually tastes like paracetamol, but in your brain. Bitter and yuck.
Girls (2012)
Loved the first season, then it went downhill pretty fast!
Yeah, that's how I feel about it. It used to be so good. Now I'm in the middle of fourth season and I feel like I lost my way around this show. i can't relate to the characters anymore, the plot is getting very boring and the writing is just all over the place.
I mean, there was a point where I asked myself, "Am I going crazy to not being able to enjoy the show that I used to enjoy before? Is it just me who cannot possibly comprehend Lena's intellect in her writing? Well, I got the answer! It's not me. The show really does suck now. I find it to be highly pretentious and annoying. Whatever happened to a good show? I think this is the last season I am going to watch and won't be back for the next season! Au revoir Girls!
Knight and Day (2010)
No Chemistry, Bad Acting, Horrible Plot + Awful Action Sequences
I've had great expectations for this movie. But It ended up being a complete waste of time.
The Bad >
1. There's no chemistry between the lead actors. Everything seemed so forced. And the blame is on Tom Cruise. Cameron tried her best to make things seem romantic between her and Cruise. But Tom was the one who wasn't really getting along with Diaz. Is it because,
*He's a douche-bag?
or, *He's married?
or, *He doesn't like Diaz personally?
or, *He's too full of himself?
2. Now coming on to the the acting part, I have to say, Cruise & Diaz both disappointed me. Sure they both look good in this movie, but those fake smiles couldn't save this movie from being a complete disaster.
3. The plot is so messed up. In short, not interesting and predictable. Also this movie is filled with stupid and cheesy dialogs.
4. When I go to see an action movie, I expect some really good action. But unfortunately, this movie has failed me in that department too. When we need action, it not there and when we don't need action, it's there. The bull-chasing scene is something I found completely ridiculous.
Anyway, I hated this movie. I gave it a 4/10. I like Diaz but hate Cruise! So, the bottom line is "Don't watch it, unless you wanna watch it for the heck of it."
Stealing Home (1988)
What an Amazing movie!
This one was like a dream. The outdoor scenes were so beautiful. And the acting was pretty good too. I felt very nostalgic while watching it. There are some little things in this movie which made me think about my childhood.
I can never forget this movie. It made me think about the good old days I shared with my friends and the way I used to think in my childhood.
I liked the beach scenes. I liked the hot scenes. The night scenes. The scenes in the daylight and everything else.
The story was very nice too. It was an emotional, engaging high-spirited roller-coaster ride. I was touched. If you haven't seen it yet, then you must. Obviously one of my favorite movies of all time!
Into the Wild (2007)
Best Movie Ever - It's so innocent and DEEP!!
This movie is THE best. I love adventure. And this movie is so full of adventure. Emile Hirsch is such an awesome actor. I don't really post comment on movie titles. But this one was so good that I had to get my feelings out of my heart.
This movie is very simple, meaningful, moving and awesome. The acting, the dialogue, the scenes, everything is so perfect. I'm a guy. At the very end of the movie, tears fell down. It was so touching and moving. I broke into tears. I so so love this movie. It's my life. So, 10/10. This movie is so special. It means a lot to me.
Love this movie. Best movie ever.
Max Payne (2008)
Totally MAX PAIN!!
It's so hard to see a film like this. I've played the game and thought why not go and see this film. But It was the biggest disappointment ever. I mean, mark's acting is so lifeless with no emotions at all. And then the crazy dialogues, Payne going from places to places with no solid reason. Mona comes out of nowhere. Then Alex dies. And then that drug thing. OH!!!! I wish I could beat the s*** out of the Director.
How could they make a movie like this...huh? I guess they never played the game. It has pretty much nothing that goes with the game. I think they did this just to make some money. I'm a big fan of Max Payne. And now I'M in MAX PAIN MODE. Ahh!
