Feeling food!
2 February 2024
I love simple little movies like this one. Movies about life and the values in it. There is beauty everywhere around us, and it is up to us whether we are going to choose that beauty and simplicity or ignore it. Life is beautiful, the world around us is wonderful; we just need to catch all the beauty in it... And we'll feel good!

Beautiful movie, beautiful direction, beautiful scenery, beautiful character, beautiful life... Words are non needed to explain all the beauty in it, because sometimes silence speak more than words.

And what impressed me the most is how clean the public toilets in Japan are!

Warning: Spoilers
This would've been great movie, only if it wasn't so predictable and full of unexplainable things, for example: some psycho is harassing you and your family, and you are not calling the police (actually yes, you are calling, but when it is too late), and doing nothing about it? Great idea transformed into a poor screenplay makes bad movie overall.

Exhausting!
13 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Exhausting! A boyfriend and a girlfriend come home from the premiere of the movie he made, and start to fight, then stop fighting, then start again, then stop again, and all over again, for two pointless hours, and all because she didn't receive his "thank you". At least if they finished in bed, we would've been spared from some of all that nonsense.

But, cinematography is beautiful, especially the amazing framing. And also, the performances by two actors is Oscar worthy.

Really surprised!
27 January 2021
It's like a story of how crap story with thousand clichés can turn into art. Even if the movie is something already seen like 1000 times before, even if you know how it will start, how it will culminate and how it will end, even if the characters are so eye-rolling and one dimensional, the movie as a whole was a tear jerking, heart whelming two hours of a time passed great. I liked it a lot!

Stunning

I always liked this kind of movies: this is a tale of life. Nothing really important or big happens, and yet, nothing is more important and bigger than life, love and family. Stunning picture!

Unremarkable
26 January 2021
Pretty unremarkable movie. Everything is so plain, the story is so simple and pointless, characters boring... They made more beautiful movies in Grujoland before Grujo went there (Son of Saul, On Body and Soul...). :D

Left me with mixed feelings
26 January 2021
I have mixed feelings about this one: while it is probably the best graphic depiction of all horrors that happened during the WWII, beautifully shot, acted, directed, and all; it is also the most disgusting movie I've ever seen. I'm sure I won't recommend to anyone.

On second thought, maybe I will... If I hate him. :D

So-So
26 January 2021
It was quite boring, with unsatisfying ending and deserved 3 stars at most. Gave half star more only because of the epic chase scene.

WOW
26 January 2021
This is maybe the only film I've seen that when it ended, I wanted to say so many things, but couldn't open my mouth. It literally left me speechless! It has to take all of the Academy awards, otherwise it will be a blasphemy.

Meh

Maybe if I see this in it's original format, I would get it. Like this it was strange, pointless and nothing special at all.

If someone, 'till today, said to me that I will actually like this film, I would've called him "nuts".

Werk ohne Autor is not equal to Never Look Away
26 January 2021
Stupid and misleading English title is the only wrong thing in this masterpiece! Pure work of art... only, with author!

Good

Maybe it is not the best animated movie, but sure is one of the most original ones. And that being said while the story is full of cliches! But the approach is really something I haven't seen in an animated film.

Remarkable

Epic movie! I watched 3 hours and 56 minutes DC version and although the pacing is really slow, I wasn't bored a single second of it. Remarkable cinema!

OK

It was promising, but halfway it got lost into many messages it wanted to send. The performances were really strong, though.

Excellent
26 January 2021
Great directorial debut of Paul Dano. I was a bit sceptical, to be honest, since I am not big fan of his acting. But this was great. I can see that someone might find it a bit slow, but overall it is very powerful family drama and good coming of age story. Plus, two of my most beloved actors are here: Carey and Jake, so my enjoyment was complete. Excellent picture!

Disappointed a bit
26 January 2021
Great performances, excellent depiction of drug addiction at young age and the best way to deal with - as a family. But overall, the movie lacks so many things. First of all, especially in the first half, the editing made it messy and made me lose interest and hype about it. Second: the music was too loud and very distracting. And third: I have impression that the whole movie stood in one spot instead of going somewhere, and therefore, I found in unnecessary too long. But, Carell and Chalamet deserves all the praise. And more!

"You're taught your entire life that what you do matters and that you're special. And that, there are things you can point towards that would... which'll show that you're special, that show you're different, when, in all reality, those things... don't matter. And you're not special." - WL

Good one
26 January 2021
Beautifully shot, well acted, and with wonderful script and directing. I liked it a lot! Only, I don't believe all of this could happen in early 18th century Britain.

The Show Must Go On
26 January 2021
My guilty pleasure of 2018. I don't care what people think, I don't care what critics say - because of the goosebumps and constant smile on my face I had last 20 minutes, and because I was overwhelmed of the beauty almost every second of it, it deserves my highest rating. Rami Malek is the champion, my friend!

P.S. I've just noticed it is my 200th film in 2018.

WOW

I haven't seen almost anything this year (only 4 of the submissions by now), but I am sure Burning will go very far in the awards season. Why not as far as getting Oscar for Best foreign language movie.
