Dimples (2008)
Another unsuccessful attempt...
I agree with some of the comments about this movie. The film is full of clichés and bad acting. At moments the plot and the acting of the actors are so illogical and just ridiculous. Some moments I believe were meant to be very psychological, strong and powerful. Instead they are naive, boring and amateur. The movie bears resemblance to a great horror flicks from the 70's like " The Texas chainsaw massacre" , "Tourist trap" , "Hills have eyes" , etc... Well very obviously this is another unsuccessful attempt to make a scary movie, and today's ran-out-of-ideas horror directors are hoping that the 70's horror movies golden mine can be always used. Sorry guys but it's not working!
Duel (1971)
Masterpiece
Well I remember when I saw "Duel" my first time, it was shown on our TV in Bulgaria, then on the next day we discussed it at school with the schoolmates and many were disappointed because of the film ending...
Later when I read Stephen King's "Danse macabre" and there he spoke about the common problem of the horror writers: no matter how hard they tried to create scary monsters and creatures people would always say "well it could have been scarier or better made" so King was talking about the unknown, that is scares us the most and I think he is so perfectly right as ever. "Duel" is one of the greatest films I have ever seen!!! Richard Mateson is one of the greatest writers in the genre!!! I give Duel: 10 of 10
Die Hard (1988)
The best film in the genre I have ever seen
I am really not a fan of the action films and that genre, but "Die hard" is simply my favorite film, from the moment I saw it for first time in 1988 to now I have watch it about 20 times. Everything in this film is just perfect done, the director did a great job with every little moment. I feel that I can keep watching it forever!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
A total disappointment!
I can not believe how the man who directed "Texas chainsaw massacre" could make so stupid and fake sequence.. If it was not for the existance of the first film, this one would be a bad and silly horror film, but after the great TCSM (1974) which is the best horror film I have ever seen ( together with "Psycho" ) now this turns to be a very very bad fake and disappointing try of a horror film. I actually could not watch it to the end and stopped it somewhere at the second half. I had to do this after the first 10 minutes of the film.
Creepshow (1982)
a great 50's comic book adaptation
Creepshow is one of my favourite movies. For me it is a great classic masterpiece that can be hardly seen nowadays among theese teen garbage horror films as it was said in some of the user comments here. I love everything that Stephen King has written, it is impossible to compare his books to the movie adaptations made of them, the books and the stories are thousands and millions of times better, but many of the films are interesting and good though. George Romero is another genius in the genre, I adore the zombies and flesh eating corpses he creates... So I give Creepshow(1 and 2) 10/10 points...
STEPHEN KING THE MASTER OF HORROR!!!
