This show fails from the first moment.

It is split into three challenges with four contestants to start.

Their first challenge is to design a signature design that shows what they do best. That's a great first challenge, but this show botches it completely but then limiting the contestant so such things as faux fur, unconventional materials, a specific genre of design. How is any contestant going to show who they are with such harsh restriction? Imagine being a bridal designer and asking to show your signature stiye with the theme of faux fur cocktail dress... And in only four hours.

On top of that they are given such a short amount of time they can't finish their design and are then judged on an unfinished garment.

Next, they are challenged to do something equally stupid with an equally absurd amount of time and restrictions, such as not using a sewimg machine or unconventional materials. Then judged on an unfinished garment. Again.

It all leads to a finale where they pick the best(?) of all the failed contestants. It's such a bad format it is painful to watch.

It is very clear these people are talented, but they went on the wrong show. A show that set them up to fail and then tried to celebrate their failures because of the restrictions the judges and produces knew were absurd and just dumb. Watching the judges try and praise a horrific garment to create drama before picking the only good thing the episode has produced is painful.

This format could work if it wasn't so horrifically executed. It's a true shame.

Mall judges

I'm not be a designer, but these judges are basic (my opinion). They constantly pick outfits that you will not see walking down any street. They are too predictable, and calling an outfit with sleeves to your ankle and a turtle neck pulled up over the face fashion forward is a comment from a follower not not a leader! You need an everyday person as a judge, My opinions 😉

Quick and Cute-Project Runway Lite

STITCHED is a fun show to watch. It's a Canadian show, which means that the judges and contestants are nice, so if you're sick of the backbiting from other competition shows, this will be a welcome antidote. It's also brief: In one hour you get the whole competition, with three challenge rounds. Looks as if the contestants are given 4 hours for each challenge, which isn't much time, so it's amazing what they come up with. No one's a superstar (or a super-snob) but you can find talent and great attitudes among the STITCHED contestants.

Sure, you don't get the hotsy-totsy production values that you'd get on PR, Making the Cut, or Next in Fashion, but that's kind of amusing, as as is the silly scripting. The judges' taste is just about as good as on any other show, and they're never nasty. (Frankly, I can see the agendas behind the judges'/producers' decisions on the other shows, and it's annoying.)

I just like to see people being creative and that's what you get with STITCHED. Good on you, Canadians!

Nice Binge Series

Warning: Spoilers
It amuses me how judgmental everyone can be in these reviews - there are many more positives about this show than negative (just saying). To begin with I love judge Joe Zee, and the simple abbreviated format is nice. We get the results so quickly. As a die hard Project Runway fan, I appreciate this. The designers are limited to materials - sometimes not the most ideal. They only have hours to complete looks. The designers are to be commended to work and created under these constraints. There are quite a few unique view points we see, some great, some not so great, some depends on taste. I love seeing the creative process designers go through to produce these looks, and then hearing the judges feedback. Stitch should gather all of the winners and have a more extended competition for all of them.
