- Violence us a running theme, as would be expected, but it is rarely graphic. Children and adults are beaten with clubs. Gang members fight with fists, clubs, iron bars, jemmies, a hammer. There is one shooting. One character has a hammer embedded in his skull.

- Almost constant. Cunt, fuck, shit, including variants. Women referred to as bitches; faggot used as a term of abuse to provoke violence.
