Gorgeous, memorable, insightful!

This film fulfills many roles - it is a beautiful tribute to one of the best choral conductors of our era; it takes the viewer inside the life of choristers at an ancient Oxford college; and it is by any measure simply a beautiful film - visually stunning, sophisticated and seamless editing, and compelling pacing. I am deeply grateful that this film has been made.

Beautiful and inspiring film!

This film is beautifully shot in the atmospheric settings of New College and Oxford. It is inspiring to watch Higginbottom work with the boy choristers to teach them complex and challenging music, and also to watch such young boys display astonishing musicality. Excellent interviews with Higginbottom, who in addition to his skills as a teacher and musician, has a fine sense of humor, and with the boys, who have such respect for him and love for their music.

English cathedral tradition at its finest

If ever a film was made which shows why the English cathedral and collegiate tradition of the boy choir must be maintained and preserved at all costs...this is it!

Exquisitely filmed and edited, it gives an insight into one of the finest of English choir trainers working with one of our finest choirs. It is a revelation and an inspiration, showing what a young boy is capable of achieving with dedication and hard-work.

Anyone who is remotely interested in choral music should watch this film.... and even for those who are not.. it may very well change your mind!
