Up, Up, Up

Warning: Spoilers
I am not sure how long the Las Vegas setting will work and how many gambling and sin jokes they can make, but I am still glad to have GLOW back. Geena Davis should be a good addition to the cast and she comes off exactly like the executives you would meet on a casino floor.

Not the strongest season premiere, the lack of wrestling hurt, but I am still glad to have the show back.

Season 3 is Good, So There!!!
TheFearmakers31 October 2019
I don't know what the problem people have with this season. The Vegas setting makes it more tight again. Season 2 was all over the place. It was great, but all over the place. The Shuttle Tragedy that begins the episode isn't dramatic or depressing as some have said. It's more or less a parody on how their act isn't in good taste during a time of mourning. Right before the tragedy happens is a very funny moment with Alison Brie, who is forever hinting at hooking up with giant headed Sam, making her basically his Diane from Cheers. Anyhow, this is a good, fun, simple season. Back to basics.

Difference of Living in 1986 v. reading about 1986

I was 18 when the Challenger launch happened. It was a shock. It was sad. Life did not stop. Shuttle launches had become routine and were mostly watched by students with limited broadcast immediately before and ending quickly after the launch. This was a bit overdone and dragged the episode down.

What a depressing episode.

When a show starts out with the Challenger disaster, you would think things would improve with the script. . However, in the showing it only gets worse and more and more melancholy that makes Season Three appear to have been a miscue. Loved the first two seasons- but this show is bring me down. That is not good for a series that relies on viewers. There is very little entertainment in the show as we get saddest in nearly every scene. Even though, this was not the best showing- we can only hope the writers get back to the show we expect. This was not the case in this depressing writing attempt. Give us back the girls that we follow each show. Give us the fantasy we expect. Not news that bring us down. Save that stuff for a documentary.

What Happened?
rjmullens23 January 2024
What Happened? In more ways than one.

Getting started in Vegas the episode built up towards opening night, with issues and troubles along the way, setting tension, would it be a success...

And then skipped to after the show getting ready for the after party. What happened with the show? Not a good way to start your new season.

The series has always been about the wrestling show and how the ladies (and producers) adapt and overcome to make it happen, to put on a good show with all the drama and problems surrounding it.

Take out the wrestling show aspect and you just have a fairly bland drama set in an 80's Vegas hotel.

Disappointing. 5/10.
