Unexplained Phenomena

With the ring as a sentient being, we can understand physical events occurring. Mostly what goes on here is the interaction among the significant forces on New Terra. The psychotic guy, Murtry, is using his powers to destroy anyone who doesn't side with him. What are his reasons for acting other than pure craziness. The gang of four continues to search for a reason. Speaking of reason, why does Naomi need to risk suicide to continue to keep going. She knows her heart is in a precarious condition.

Avarasala has been cringe worthy the first 3 episodes

I like the show a lot. Big fan. Avarasala's character has become incredibly annoying and I can't even stand to see her clips anymore at this point. I have no problem with cussing in general but when she does it.... just no. I can't say enough how she has knocked stars of the episodes this season

You've got to love it

Spectacular series! This is one of those "not a huge amount seems to happen... but really it does" episodes. I don't mind the sub-plots, having now started reading/listening to the books you can understand how it all weaves together.

Every episode is visually stunning and this episode has that growing tension feeling where you know it's building to something big (I haven't seen the episodes yet but wanted to balance out the other reviews!). The Expanse has some breathtaking moments (Hone, Abaddon's gate) I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Too many B plot lines

I sure hope the story on Mars and the kid "cooking" is important. With the OPA hunting pirates, the UN secretary election and all the stuff with the belters on New Terra (which is the same as Illus??) it seems like we gonna have to wait on long time for developments with the "Builders" and the proto molecule stuff.

fast forwarding helps you get through this episode

Though I love the show in general, this last few episodes have been really grinding and grinding my gears. The plot has slowed down a lot and there are some throwaway plot twists that does not move the story forward and some scenes that are way longer than they need to be. This is the point when the writers start writing for their paychecks. Not as bad as some other shows mind you, but slow none the less. While the actors make up for lack of good dialogue by screaming out their lines very loud. Sounds like they all went to the drama school that Catherine O'Hara's character ran at the end of Waiting for Guffman. If you have made it this far, stick with it, it's worth it.

Repeating my review

Warning: Spoilers
The production values are good. I really like the space shots. The acting remains horrendous. With few exceptions, everyone acts like an untalented high school tryout. The biggest problem is the writing. The pace of this season is extremely slow. All the action on Ilus could have and should have been compressed into 3-4 episodes. I've read the books, and this material is not a high point of the series. Very minor spoiler: I have a good idea what's "cooking" on Mars, based on the sequence of events in the books. It's nothing that was in the books, and was added for no good reason, IMO.

Final note: I do like Miller. He's one of the only interesting characters for me. The worst acted and written is Naomi, then James Holden. Amos is written and acted very much like the books. Alex is just blah, but not offensive to me. So, two of the biggest players in the series are terribly written and terribly acted. I can't get over it.
