This show is kinda cute, emotional and who knows it could be true if a medium was driving a cab or car share. I really like the first two episodes, it may wear thin after a while but I think its a good show, the guy who plays the medium is good and seems realistic. Hope it continues on.....

Seatbelt Psychic is a very good show...

I watched the first two episodes last night. He's a rideshare driver who gives readings for his passengers. He has them tearing up as he reveals past events in detail (names, actions, dress). The scene where he picks up the mortician was hilarious "Get out!" Anyway, he helps a lot of people overcome their grief and that in itself speaks volumes on what the show is all about.
Disappointed there was only 1 season

Warning: Spoilers
Other reviewers seen to have taken this "medium" seriously. He supposedly drives around picking up passengers who never tell him a destination, never remark on the cameras filming them and never pay him anything.
As soon as they enter the car, he tells them there are ghosts of their relatives telling him messages to pass on.
At the start of the program is a statement that he has never met the passengers before. Maybe not, but they all happen to be actors. Sometimes overactors. And their characters happen to have families with Mafia connections or murder victims, etc. Come on!
The car is clearly not moving. Out of focus backgrounds are projected outside of the windows as he pretends to drive. Cameras film from multiple angles, including from outside the windscreen and closeups of the passengers.
This guy turned from being a drag queen performer to doing this "medium" schtick in this show and on stage. Google him.
Everyone claiming to be a medium is a fraud.
Different than other psychic shows

Loved This Show Until I Did Some Research!

Nobody likes a good medium more than I do! I have been to some of the best.. legitimate clairvoyant mediums and psychics who were well known, on a personal level, in the circles I traveled with.
After watching a few episodes of Seatbelt Psychic, my first thought was that Thomas John was amazing. Most mediums have a high batting average, but they can't always get names.. and they might be a little hesitant on some of their images because either the message doesn't make sense, or the deceased spirit is not great at projecting. But Thomas seems to have no problems deciphering the transmissions at all, so I thought "Wow! He's incredible!" Yet.. some things bothered me.
For one thing, every person who got into the cab was dressed to the nines, with full makeup, jewelry, coiffed hair.. And oddly, they don't give an address and he doesn't ask. They all sit scrunched to the left. They don't see the cameras? And one woman looked familiar to me, from another show.
Another thing that gave me pause was his demeanor, which is unlike the psychics I have known. People who have the ability to communicate with spirits are people who have a high degree of empathy. He did not exude empathy, and was strangely quiet whenever someone cried or had a question about an emotional matter, such as a suicide. Mediums don't do that. They don't take the pauses that he takes, to the extent that he does. They are quick to comfort, or to say something positive. Also, they show emotion. He does not.
Curious, I googled Thomas John.. and I learned.. a LOT!!
Hundreds of people tell the same story all over the internet.. on Yelp, for example, and at the BBB. His ratings are 1 star, but the reviewers keep saying "I don't want to give a star, but it won't let me do zero stars". All but a miniscule few rant about how they paid hundreds, even thousands of dollars, for readings, which are typically for a year away, but then the readings get rescheduled.. and rescheduled again.. and again.. and again. At some point they tire of the runaround and ask for a refund, but are told "there are no refunds". This goes on with countless emails and reschedules, but the readings never happen. They are told that there was a technical glitch, or he has family problems, or he was in a terrible accident. Meanwhile, these people, who never get their money back, receive emails constantly, offering "specials", including for periods where they were given a cancellation. .. In one instance where an actual reading was given (there are precious few readings given), the father had paid for his 2 teenage daughters to get 15 minute readings. One daughter got a reading that ran over. The other daughter did not get a reading. The father managed to contact Thomas, who said that the first daughter didn't stop the reading at 15 minutes (it's not her job to end it - it's his!), so he wouldn't honor a reading for the other child.
I also learned that Thomas John has a criminal record. He used to pose as a landlord for apartment rentals listed on Craigslist, and then the unsuspecting public would come out to meet with him, and hand him the down-payment for the apartment that he has no affiliation with. That speaks volumes about his character.
Finally, I went to IMDb and looked at the show's cast list. Those random passengers are all actors, with acting credits for other shows that they have been on!
I feel bad for those scads of folks that gave him money, most of whom were never meant to receive readings. This guy is a total scam artist, and a good one! Based on the number of people who have claimed that they paid him several hundred dollars via PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, ApplePay, and credit card, and got nothing in return - I'm guessing million$!
There are very real, very superb psychic mediums in this world. I don't know if the Seatbelt Psychic has any ability at all (I'm guessing not, because his feedback doesn't reflect one with a high enough vibration to have a sixth sense), but if you read the complaints against him you would certainly think twice about putting any faith in his seatbelt readings.
So, my advice is - watch if you find it entertaining, but if you are interested in authentic paranormal or metaphysical viewing, you might want to "change the channel"!

Best Show Ever!!

This show was so great! It had me sharing for months on end. The genuineness of the riders and the care and concern that he has for everyone he gives a reading to is compelling. Stories were compelling. The idea is fresh and incredible. I cannot get over how much I love this show! I wish it would continue.
I ended up having to Google all the episodes. It would be great if this got picked up for Moore!! Hands-down great conversation starter at a party, really just amazing idea and I ended up having a reading by him myself and it was incredible. The real deal.
Absolutely intriguing and actually gives you hope rather than feeling eerie or weird. I love his laugh and sense of humor as well.
