Elegant in all possible ways, image and sound

The elegance of a fancy hotel room and a classy female clothing invites a dreamy moment from a maid cleaning that very place in the video for Joe Jackson's hit "Steppin' Out". She dreams about living the lifestyle of rich and famous, and after trying out the madam's clothes she envisions herself dancing with an elegant gentleman in a ballroom; also day-dreaming about such life and present with her in the room, though as if being a phantom of which she doesn't see is Jackson playing the piano and singing the song. For a video of its era, it has a great sense of appeal which also presents glamurous images of New York at night with its bright colors illuminating the big city, and besides those the great song is a delight to hear - though I don't understand why it was such a huge hit since most of Jackson's greatest songs came in the "Night and Day" album, which is criminally underrated. 8/10.
