A struggle many couples deal with is when a marriage or relationship becomes a bit co dependent and change can be scary. Lewis has trouble dealing with Jessica having so much going on outside of him for the first time and he doesn't handle it well, thinking they're drafting apart.

Lewis's paranoia and self doubt is common but the conclusion isn't some magical resolution but understanding Jessica having something important to her that's her own is OK and their job is to communicate and make sure to actively make time for their marriage.
