Fauna is excited to travel to Hawaii with Jay in hopes of finding her birth mother. After some effort they finally do find Fauna's birth mother Tamar Hodel. After the initial emotional reunion Fauna presses her mother Tamar to tell her who is her birth father. Initially Tamar explains that she falsified Fauna's birth certificate by claiming her father was a negro because she respected negros for their truth and willingness to fight for what was right.
When Fauna does find out the truth who her father is she is both shocked and outraged at her mother Tamar and at Jay for bringing her to Hawaii knowing full well her story. Jay was looking for confirmation from Tamar and he received more than he even expected in the form of physical evidence who the Black Dahlia serial killer was.
Upon returning home from Hawaii Fauna thanks her negro step mother Jimmy Lee for raising her and sheltering her from what Fauno knows now is the pain and suffering of her real family roots. This episode although revealing does not end well for Jay or for Jimmy Lee, and Fauna will need some strong support in the coming weeks episode.
