After Monday night’s performances, The Voice fans are raging about the release of one singer. While all of the knockouts were tense, one in particular has fans angry about the loss of this amazing talent.
The Voice Kicks Off The Knockouts
During the Monday edition of The Voice, the coaches: John Legend, 45, Dan Smyers, 36, Shay Mooney, 32, Reba McEntire, 69, and Chance The Rapper, 30, didn’t get fans’ full approval. The coaches were preparing their team members for knockouts with Keith Urban as a Mega Mentor. Furthermore, tensions were running high since the knockouts pitted two contestants against one another to determine who would continue to the playoffs. Once the singers perform a cover of a hit song, the coaches make their selection of who advances. The other singer has a chance for one of the other coaches to scoop them up. But if not stolen, the singer is eliminated.

Elton John has finally completed his Egot.
As Amy Poehler said before announcing John as the winner of the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) award, he’s “Egot to be excited”.
The Tiny Dancer star becomes the 19th person to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.
He scores his Egot after Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium beat Chris Rock Selective Outrage, The Oscars, 75th Annual Tony Awards and The Apple Music Super Bowl Lvii Halftime Show Starring Rihanna in the category.
Elton wasn’t present at the Emmys, apparently due to a recent knee operation, but his partner David Furnish was, and he was thanked by Ben Winston, who co-founded Fulwell 73, which produced the special, for his “creative vision”.

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married in 2018, they made their day uniquely theirs. They shared how their two lives merged in a ceremony filled with passion and inspiration. However, details regarding their private reception for family and friends later in the evening remained under wraps until the couple spilled details in Netflix’s Harry & Meghan. A fun fact included their non-traditional wedding song that Meghan said left her “spinning like a whirlwind.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s untraditional wedding song
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding song was significant. It also wasn’t traditional.
The couple wanted to share a moment as husband and wife that reflected their personalities. Therefore, they chose a rather untraditional first wedding dance.
In a clip from the Netflix series Harry & Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex revealed they wanted the music for their reception to be “fun.” She added, “Even our first dance.

Who’s the boss? That title goes to Tony Danza, of course. And even John Stamos gives him credit, despite Danza sleeping with his then-girlfriend Teri Copley…
In his upcoming memoir If You Would Have Told Me (out now – buy it here), John Stamos writes that he grew suspicious of Copley cheating on him, even visiting her house one night to check on it, spotting an unfamiliar 1957 Porsche in the driveway. “The blinds are closed, but the door is slightly open…I take a peek inside and see four feet protruding from the shabby-chic, floral-print duvet that once kept me warm. My Tiny Dancer is in bed with Mr. Porsche Speedster. They are sleeping. I can’t tell who he is, but I recognize Teri’s ass barely covered by the sheets…Do I pull him out of the bed by his hair, kick him in the nuts, and beat his ass?...

Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, The Spinners and the late George Michael were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Friday.
The 38th annual ceremony took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with performances that spanned genres and paired different generations of stars, including an opening act with Crow and Olivia Rodrigo singing “If It Makes You Happy,” a pairing of honoree Chaka Khan and Common, as well as with H.E.R. and Sia, and a medley of Nelson’s songs featuring the 90-year-old performer alongside Dave Matthews, Chris Stapleton and Crow. Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page made a surprise appearance to perform “Rumble” in honor of inductee Link Wray.
The evening concluded with an all-out performance from Elliott, decked out in a sequined gold jumpsuit, surrounded by backup dancers and running through hits such as “Lose Control” and “Get Ur Freak On.

When Elton John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 1994, he called Bernie Taupin onstage and handed him the award. “Without him, the journey would not have been possible,” John said at the time. “I kind of feel like cheating standing here accepting this. Without Bernie Taupin, there wouldn’t have been any Elton John at all. And I would like him to come up and give this to him.”

Britney Spears made her long-awaited musical comeback in the summer of 2022 with a collaboration with none other than Elton John. The two artists joined forces for a new version of "Tiny Dancer," and the infectious single, called "Hold Me Closer," was released on Aug. 26.
The project was incredibly meaningful for both Spears and her fans, as the singer hadn't released new music since 2016's "Glory." She'd also been released her 13-year conservatorship a year prior and was finally free to create the music she wanted.
In her memoir "The Woman in Me," which was released on Oct. 24, Spears recounts how happy she was to have the ability to collaborate with John. "I was honored. Like me, Elton John has been through so much, so publicly," she wrote. "It's given him incredible compassion. What a beautiful man on all levels. Spoiler Alert! This post contains details about the eliminated contestant from Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer.
Elton John was the man of the hour on Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer.
No, the prolific musician didn’t make an appearance (though Jenny McCarthy did mention he was watching). Instead, four contestants paid tribute to John with their song choices. But first, Robin Thicke kicked things off with a rousing rendition of “Tiny Dancer.”
The contestants cycled through John’s hits, like “Bennie and The Jets” and “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting).” But, none were quite so fitting as Royal Hen’s selection, “Philadelphia Freedom.”
You see, underneath the mask was none other than Billie Jean King, who John penned that song for.
Named after her tennis team, the lyrics of the song are meant to honor John’s admiration for King, after the pair built a strong bond through their philanthropy.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 10, Episode 5 of “The Masked Singer,” “A Celebration of Elton John,” which aired Oct. 18 on Fox.
Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote the track “Philadelphia Freedom” in 1975 at the behest of tennis icon Billie Jean King (whose team was the Philadelphia Freedoms). So, it was wildly appropriate that King performed the song on Wednesday during “A Celebration of Elton John” on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.”
King performed “Philadelphia Freedom” as the Royal Hen — and the fact that we know she was on the show means that, alas, she was also the next celebrity to be unmasked on “Singer.”
“A true trail blazer, she is famous for championing equal opportunities for all, and has made it her royal mission to be a voice for the voiceless,” a “Masked Singer” voiceover shared in giving the hints to whom the Royal Hen might be.

“The Masked Singer” sent home a bonafide icon on Wednesday night. But, perhaps it was fitting, considering her swan song ended up being one that was explicitly made for her.
It was Elton John Night on the show this week, and the episode kicked off with a performance of “Tiny Dancer” by Robin Thicke, as his co-panelists rocked their best Rocket Man looks.. Sadly, at the end of the night, there was always going to be one competitor who wasn’t still standing.
And that competitor was Royal Hen. After singing her heart out to “Philadelphia Freedom,” the giant bird was unmasked at the end of the night to reveal… Billie Jean King.
Of course, longtime fans know that John actually wrote that song for the tennis legend. It was written specifically to honor King, who was playing for the Philadelphia Freedoms in 1975, when it was released. John even included...

“The Masked Singer” is back this week with an Elton John-themed night of competition, but that’s not what’s fueling Ken Jeong’s guess this week. Instead, it’s his knowledge of old Disney Channel crossover episodes.
In TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek at Wednesday night’s episode, Ken Jeong is tapped to kick off the guesses on who Hawk might be. We don’t see what the clue presented is, but it appears it may have something to do with Miley Cyrus.
“Based on that onstage clue, maybe it could be somebody like Cole Sprouse,” Jeong guesses. “Hear me out. His show ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ had a crossover episode with ‘Hannah Montana.’ Huh? Facts! You can’t boo facts!”
You can watch TheWrap’s exclusive clip of the moment in the video above.
And, for what it’s worth, Hawk himself doesn’t shoot down Jeong’s guess.

Classic rock stars seemed to inspire outrage more than the musicians of today. For example, John Lennon infamously proclaimed that The Beatles were “more popular than Jesus” and Elton John upset fans when he revealed something about his personal life. Someone close to the latter said the controversy was only a “temporary hiccup” in his career.
Bernie Taupin compared Elton John’s coming out to the ‘more popular than Jesus’ fiasco
Most of John’s big songs, such as “Daniel,” “Tiny Dancer,” and “I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues,” were co-written by Taupin. The Lion King is easily one of the most successful projects Elton John has been involved with. Not only is it considered one of Disney’s best soundtracks, but it also earned John his first Academy Award. It was a departure from John’s standard material since he had never written music for the stage or screen at that time in his career. It was also a shift for him, and one song from the Disney film made him question what he was doing.
‘Hakuna Matata’ from ‘The Lion King’ made Elton John question his career
Disney had a ton of success in the early 1990s with hit movies such as Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. In 1994, the studio would release The Lion King, an animated musical that was their most successful film for a long time. Part of The Lion King’s success was due to its remarkable soundtrack,...

Britney Spears and will.i.am’s latest collaboration, “Mind Your Business,” dropped on Friday.
The new song focuses on Spears’ experiences being followed by paparazzi and people’s obsession with her as a high-profile musician. It serves as a reunion for both artists, who in 2021 released the hit “Scream & Shout,” which peaked at no. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the first No. 1 song on the then-newly established Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
“When you’re in the spotlight, a lot of times you just want to live your life. There are lyrics in the song that point to that,” will.i.am told CBS Mornings on Thursday ahead of the song’s release. “There is a thin line, and everyone deservers their version of privacy.”

On July 17, Will.i.am shared a snippet of the track, titled "Mind Your Business," on Instagram, captioning it, "Uh oh!!! This summer is about to be hot!!!" In the clip, Will.i.am uses a cut of the duo's 2012 collab "Scream & Shout" to announce their forthcoming song: "You are now, now rockin' with Will.i.am and Britney, b*tch." Spears chimes in at the end and adds, "Mind your business, b*tch!" The new song was then released in full on July 21.
The track is Spears's first release since she and Elton John debuted "Hold Me Closer" in August 2022. That track is a remix of his seminal 1971 hit "Tiny Dancer." John similarly collaborated with Dua Lipa on 2021's "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)," which draws strongly from his 1972 song "Rocket Man.

“Tiny Dancer” is a song many would think about when referencing Elton John. However, the track was not immediately hit upon its release and needed help from other pop culture mediums. In 2000, a Cameron Crowe movie featured a scene with “Tiny Dancer” that John believes “resurrected” the catchy tune.
Elton John said ‘Tiny Dancer’ was ‘resurrected’ by ‘Almost Famous’
Almost Famous is a 2000 comedy-drama film directed by Cameron Crowe. The film stars Patrick Fugit, Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand, and Kate Hudson. It centers around a teenage writer for Rolling Stone who tours with the fictitious band, Stillwater, to write a cover story on the band. While the film wasn’t a box office smash, it received praise from critics and audiences alike and was nominated for four Academy Awards.

Elton John and David Furnish have testified as part of Kevin Spacey’s defense in the actor’s trial for sexual assault in the U.K.
Both John and Furnish, who were called as witnesses for the defense, gave evidence separately via videolink from an oak-panelled boardroom in Monaco. They were called to testify regarding Kevin Spacey’s presence at the couple’s annual White Tie and Tiara ball in the early 2000s and as to whether Spacey had ever visited their house in Windsor aside from the ball.
John, who played his last ever gig as a touring artist in Sweden last week, was wearing a black jacket and white shirt with orange tinted glasses.
He was asked whether he recognized one of the alleged victims who has accused Kevin Spacey of sexual assault and said he didn’t recognize the man or his name. (The man cannot be identified publicly for legal reasons.

Elton John has announced his retirement several different times, but Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr took a different approach when they wanted The Beatles to stop live performances. Rather than announcing it, they simply stopped. McCartney said he never wanted to do a grand farewell tour or even break up The Beatles when he got sick of them. He believed there was always a chance of reunion. McCartney specifically said that he didn’t want to take John’s approach.
Paul McCartney didn’t want The Beatles to approach a farewell tour like Elton John did
After playing a show in San Francisco’s Candlestick Park in 1966, The Beatles never toured again. They continued to make music together for the next several years, though. McCartney said they brought up the possibility of breaking up before they officially split, but he tended to push back against it.

Britney Spears has reunited with fellow superstar Will.i.am to make a brand new song, after their last chart topping collaboration. The 41-year-old pop sensation and the 48-year-old ‘Black Eyed Peas’ star have recorded a top-secret song and the pair are all set to release it later this month, Thesun.co.uk reported.

Elton John raised the roof at Glastonbury last night in what could be the Rocketman singer’s last ever performance, and he was watched by more than 7M viewers on the BBC. The figure was almost triple that of Paul McCartney’s headline slot in 2022.
The legendary British singer’s three-hour performance drew a near-50% audience share and becomes one of the most-watched TV shows of the year so far, according to Barb data from overnights.tv, just behind Happy Valley. His performance was by miles the most-watched Glastonbury set across the weekend on the BBC, which shows wall-to-wall coverage of the Worthy Farm fest.
At the festival, early estimates had the performance as one of the most-watched of all time, possibly eclipsing Dolly Parton in 2014 at well over 100,000.

After The Beatles disbanded in 1970, Elton John was the most in-demand artist from the U.K. John developed a friendship with John Lennon, as the pair collaborated on several projects. His relationship with George Harrison was less intimate, but Harrison gave Elton John some advice that led the “Tiny Dancer” singer to call him the ‘sage of The Beatles.’”
George Harrison gave Elton John advice to help him on his road to sobriety
During the 1970s ad 1980s, John hit the peak of his fame where he was releasing hits like “Bennie and the Jets,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” and “Rocket Man”. However, his fame led to excess as he struggled with addiction to alcohol and drugs. In 1990, he took the first step to recovery by checking in to rehab.
One person who encouraged him to seek help was Harrison. Harrison was a spiritual person and fully aware of the dangers of fame.

All this was captured in Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, which aired live on Disney+ on Nov. 20. The concert took place 47 years after John’s historic 1975 performance at the Los Angeles ballpark that cemented his superstar status.
