Dante is here!
EddyTheMartian0075 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not going to lie. Initially this episode wasn't that good. It was an average episode, with a lot of Drama, however the ending really makes up for it.

We've gotten to a point where there's clearly to many characters on the show, so I do think what they did with ARGUS, The Ghost Initiative, and Diaz were a good decision, despite them being able to do more. They seriously need to trim the cast because we're getting to little time with each character, and a character is always overlooked.

A lot of the episode was just characters giving speeches, which I didn't like, we did however get some pretty good bonding with Emiko and Oliver which was needed.

What really saved this episode was the ending. We've been building up to it for so long. Dante (Played By Adrian Paul) In only a few minutes has already shown what a threat, and potentially great villain he is going to be. Again I was a bit unengaged in this episode, I was disappointed considering we've been waiting 3 weeks, but The last 10 minutes, or so were excellent. The final twist with Dante working with Emiko was also unpredictable, and has me very intrigued. They also finally (possibly?) killed of Diaz which is good, even though he was such a disappointment.

Overall it was a pretty average episode, before we got all the great revelations, which really catapulted this episode to an above average episode.

Ending redeemed the episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode doesn't start out amazing. It's actually a little cringey. However, the ending redeemed it for me. Diaz really needed to die and Dante looks like he'll be a real threat. I just hope they develop him well

Meet Dante

If there is one running trend with Arrow, is that it loves to frequently misdirect with trailer and episode titles. Never has that been more the case than with "Brothers & Sisters", a strong addition to season seven that gets quite a bit done for the season moving forward.

By misdirection, I'm referring to the fact that this episode didn't exactly do Emiko (Shea Simooka) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) any favours in terms of advancing their relationship as brother and sister. Yeah, the other pairing of William (Ben Lewis) and Mia (Katherine McNamara) worked out okay, I still didn't really as if any progression was made in terms of the Queen siblings.

The real spotlight was on Diggle (David Ramsey) and Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) tackling Dante (Adrian Paul). The limited ventures into a criminal underworld worked nicely, but the introduction of the man himself more than payed off in the end. Diaz hasn't exactly been in top form throughout this season and while I love the actor's portrayal and the character itself, it seemed as if the writers have exhausted all possibilities with the Dragon. The whole Suicide Squad 2 was only there to keep things a little fresher and to the narrative's credit, it managed to offer a few good moments for the team. Thankfully, with all that seemingly being swept aside, Dante seemed more than up to the task of taking the crime lord's place, besting Ollie in a short-lived, yet impressive brawl towards the end of the episode. Dante's suave, calculated attitude was evident, smoothly deflecting Ollie's arrows and tackling him. That and the fancy Assassin's Creed dive off the building just topped the whole thing off.

Really, everything kicked into gear at the very last minute. The episode took things a lot slower than it usually does early on, yet it kicked off a slew of exciting new plots in its closing minutes. If we ignore the underwhelming Emiko storyline, "Brothers & Sisters" is an action-packed, streamlined (if a little slow) episode of Arrow that paves the way for a promising new conflict.

The ending tho

This episode was really smart in how, the flash forwards connected to present day. I really enjoyed seeing the 'suicide squad' in action again. And seeing Dante was worth the wait.

The best thing about the episode however, was the two shocks at the end. Both that I didn't see coming, overall a solid episode with a great end which sets up future episode.

Fair episode.

3 out of 5 stars.

Another decent episode. Improves over the last few. Felicity has a secret that she wants to tell Oliver. Oliver and his sister get a lead to where Dante is.

I did feel like Dante is a underwritten villain. It has a few decent action. The flash forward is still interesting.

Not Worth Watching
MajorBaleegh9 March 2019
The arrow TV show is seemed running in the future and present day back and forth and make it quite confusing to understand. One villain after the other; is being portrayed to linger on the show without any credible reason. I failed to understand if you do not have a story why keeping lingering on the show. The initial six seasons were quite entertaining and make your time spend worthwhile but with the commencement of season seven, it seems that the show is getting lengthier without any motive or goal. Till the capturing of Diaz was fun to watch at the ending of previous season but now I am getting anywhere.

The Less Secrets, the Better
ThomasDrufke5 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Just when I think this show may officially be done with Diaz, they loop him back in for one more storyline. Of course, I THINK this is his last episode, right....? I mean we did just see him burn alive? I was begging Felicity to shoot him right in the noggin, alas, I'll take that character burning to death all day long.

How the show handled Diaz tonight was pretty much how the episode as a whole was executed. Lazy, all over the place, and spread far too thin. This episode proved that this show, along with it's speedster counterpart on Tuesdays, has far too many characters to cover in 42 minutes every week. The only arc that was of any quality was Oliver and Emiko building bond, but even that seems to be going away by the end of the episode with Dante apparently working alongside her. And just to make things more frustrating, doesnt her working with Dante not feel exactly the same as Nora and Thawnes relationship on Flash??????

I won't even try to discuss the ins and outs of those flash forward or task force x scenes, I admittedly tuned out for most of it. I'm sure it will eventually change, but I'm having a hard time keeping my interest in any of these CW shows this year.
