Very poor, mechanical all-girl effort from Anna Span
lor_22 September 2017
British favorite daughter porn director Anna Span didn't try very hard in creating the Lesbian sex vignettes compiled into "Play the Slut", meager skits conforming to the porn dictum that "every woman is a slut". It certainly contradicts her career as a pioneer in Adult Entertainment for women, and is better viewed piecemeal as dumb vignettes on her website.

It was made in 2004, disseminated later on both DVD and streaming from her Diary series on-line, randomly numbered #14 in that series as an afterthought. Casting is lame, and the situations concocted for the five skits all pointless.

In particular, big-bust interracial team of Alicia Rhodes (a famous player of the era) and Lexi Martinez (obscure but worth watching) shoot a porn video at home, hoping to cash in on the lucrative art form which they admire from America (with improv dialog sort of ridiculing the content of same, but applying just as well to what Span dishes out here). Each does a lengthy solo masturbation with dildos, and of course a teamed-up lesbian interlude. I watched them do the same nonsense in a lousy video made around the same time titled "Rude Britannia Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...XXX", and Span's results are interchangeable with the work of that hack (credited there as directed by "Little John and El Chop Chop".

"Suburban Slut" is a dumb routine in which a girl sympathizes with her pal's distress at a husband who's strayed, and performs Lesbian stuff with her to make her more competitive with "the other woman". It's terrible, and one of the Euro actresses mumbles her improv dialog so softly as to be unintelligible.

"Pay the Slut" has Janca and Lucy Rush role-playing on a 10-pound bet that one can hang out as a Streetwalker, get picked up by the other and go home together and have sex. It's utterly pointless since nothing happens - they might as well have stayed at home, merely proving that a script and some twists are all that's lacking here, and that's quite apparent.

Opening segment "Strut the Slut" was fairly obnoxious, as one roommate berates the other for going on a Straigh job interview, suggesting more money is to be made looking for employment as an Exotic Dancer. This tired refrain is so common in porn, subconscious justification for the porn life and its relatives: prostitution and stripping, that it drags Span's high-minded position right down to the gutter of her male peers in the misogynistic profession.
