Never knew this real cowboy until this film

This is my favorite documentary about a true Western cowboy. If I hadn't seen this film at it's premier showing during the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, I would've never known about this incredible horseman and Hollywood Actor. Former Presidenr Gerald Ford'a son, Steven Ford (an actor and local resident) was onstage at the SLO Film Festival Festival to discuss Casey Tibbs.

The young filmmaker spent an enormous amount of time and effort to compile old homemade movies and other film footage to create the riveting story about this American cowboy. I was so impressed with the chronological flow and the description of him and of the times. I believe this film deserves to be shown to high school and college American History students on campuses .

Tibbs accomplished so much for the Western cowboy and rodeo during his lifetime. Highly recommend this documentary.

Casey Who?

Casey Tibbs deserved better than this shallow retrospective. If the intent was to highlight the person most responsible for the success of the RCA, National Finals Rodeo, and eventually the PRCA then the producers should have followed the script. Instead they focused on Casey's warts, everyone has them. The producer's jobs were to elevate Casey to the lofty peak he earned, and to create a role model that every budding cowboy wanted to grow up and become.
