It was that moment when Henry Mills knocked Emma Swan's door telling her that's she's his mother but she doesn't know it yet,, I knew this show will be something extraordinary and now , that's the end of the "once upon a time " book filled with magical stories of Storybrooke.

The whole show is just an amazing captivating journey, and even that one season series "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" that branched of it was really good... with each and every episode they introduced us to a new character, a new story from the book all until they break the curse ,, And Ohh that was not the last curse ,, up until the last season things were top,, maybe in this season things went a bit dull in some moments but still kept its form and held until the series finale,,. where the whole story come to an end, where we leave Storybrooke ,, and in general it was a happy ending for all at last.

final thought,, I think this show for me will always be right up there with a few series that i consider unforgettable, and who knows, maybe they'll come back one day with a Christmas special story .. to take us back down memory lane .. we can only wish.

Tears, Tears, Tears.

Can't believe this show has finally ended. I love how almost everyone reunited for this finale. Even though it's the finale, I gotta say it's not their best. The Wish versions are still a bit confusing for me and it's just a bit muddled but they can get away with it, it's magic, anything's possible. Seeing all of those castles in Storybrooke, and I was actually naming them as they pass, it made me jump off my seat. And it would be heartbreaking if Regina didn't get one last scene with Robin Hood which I'm super super grateful for. Who knew that for a fairy tale show centered mostly on Snow White and Prince Charming, and Emma, it would end with the Evil Queen's happy ending as the Good Queen. Definitely, one of the best twists!

I wish that some one will revive this show some day, so we can have more stories!

I just watched this final episode, and let me just be clear that I am NOT crying (of course I am). It was perfect. It had me genuinely worried for everyone, which so rarely happens in this show because even though it has been an emotional roller coaster at times, I always know that the life of the characters are in the capable hands of the show's creators. And it tied up everything up so nicely with little to no plot holes, and who cares about those anyway, when everyone got their happy ending.

This show has been beautiful, and heart-warming, and it got to decide when it ended, which again is rare. It was so well done in my opinion, that I had to go straight here, write my first review, give this episode 10 stars, and add a couple to the eight I originally gave the series.

And if ever Horowitz and Kitsis, or any of the cast and crew read these reviews: Thank you <3

Thank you for such a wonderful, beautiful, imaginative, magical set of stories, bringing the tradition of fairy tales into the 21st century, good for the whole family. This is something we rarely see on TV or in the movies today.

I've been a loyal fan of this show for the last 7 years of my life. That's a long time to be invested in something. I absolutely loved this show through the years and although I had my doubts about them continuing on to season 7 without the entire main cast I gave it a chance, I think they did a pretty good job with it and the way they used the cast again - this last episode was fantastic though really great way to end it. Very beautifully written & well done. Rumple's sacrifice was heartbreaking but also so happy that he got to be with Belle again and truly redeemed himself fully. I loved seeing the old cast members pop up, I wish Emma was in more but i'm glad she made it at all. I really do wish Ruby would have been there too, Aurora, Ariel, Elsa and Anna, even Aladdin and jasmine, but I guess it's hard to really get all those people back at once. I thought the ending was really cute to have Regina become the queen again but as the Good Queen. Although I would've really loved for them to find some magical way to have brought back Robin for her, I actually thought that he would be standing there when the Henrys opened those doors lol. but all in all it was well done, I did cry bittersweet tears, I can't believe my favorite show has ended, it's really sad. Best of luck to the cast in their future projects, and i'm thankful for the writers for giving everyone a very happy ending.

The end...
Wililjam19 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
7 years, 7 seasons and 155 episodes has come to an end.

I started watching Once Upon A Time when I was 15 and now I am almost 22 years old. It's rare that I ever follow a series from beginning to end, but Once has always kept me interested in the show. Season 7 created much controversy because of the cast shake-up, but I honestly liked it.

This episode was filled with nostalgia, and it made me happy that they included some flashbacks and cast-reprisals. Emma Swan's entrance made me weep, same with Snow and Charming's entrances. It's just sad that it's over. 7 years have gone by incredibly fast.

I don't even know what to write, there are so many emotions flowing through my body. It's sad, and I'm sure there wont ever be a show like Once. It's special, at least to me.

I can't thank everyone who made Once Upon A Time, and everyone who was involved with the show, enough.

Sorry it's finished - A few unresolved stories - want more please

Warning: Spoilers
I've been a follower of Once Upon a time since I saw the first episode in season one Hired the first disk at the video shop and was instantly HOOKED on the show I promptly went out and bought all the seasons that were out at the time and waited in acute anticipation of getting the remaining seasons To say I LOVE the show would be an understatement I both love and hate the show at the same time Love the stories and the way all comes together Hate the show because I can't stop watching the show I need to eat work and sleep and this show does not allow it The hooks at the end of each episode leaves you hungering for more so you watch and watch and watch until you drop This is a binge watching series most definitely There are unfortunately quite a few loose ends which should have been cleared up but weren't Also some of the sad conclusions are upsetting The fate of some characters are unknown or some have just disappeared I must admit the change of scenery and some of the characters was a bit jarring Cinderella for example In all the seasons she is one person but in the next she is different Took time to come to terms with that abrupt change I found it took a few episodes to really come to terms with the new settings What happened to Layla Rumples ending was heroic but tragic All in all Once Upon a Time is one of the very few shows that l have been fully addicted to from begining to end and I for one am sorry it finally ended On a positive note I'm glad it had a begining middle and ending unlike many TV series that have cliff hanger endings There are too many that leave you PANTING for more but lave you hanging The V series - both versions Sliders Voyagers Terra Nova Planet of the Apes - origional series Submerged - had a decent ending but left some major loose ends Primeval likewise Battlestar Galactica (origional) and Galactica 80

One interesting thing about ONCE UPON A TIME is not just the story but the after effects of the stories Any author or film producer that can make a reader or viewer go research more on the subject matter is to be commended Thanks to the producers of Once Upon a time I have gone and read and watched the origional stories to see how they differ Likewise with many books and movies like Voyagers for example, I have gone and read the stories of the historical characters the incidents are based on That is a very positive outcome for these books and movies

One question I have is Why have they not released ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND on DVD The origional draws a lot on that series so it leaves a lot of blanks in the origional series if one has not caught it on TV

They should release it on DVD for those who have not seen it because it means the collection is not complete We need both the origional and it's spin off to complete the collection

As for a extension to the series Yes please Would love a continuation

The perfect ending to a perfect show!
harrisonhartin19 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode brings all other episodes and makes a happy "ending".It hits all of the right notes, and is very sad. With Rumple sacrificing himself to save book and being reunited with Belle, to Emma showing up at the perfect timing, and the the ending credits of the leaving storybrook sign, all in all a fantastic series finale to an amazing show. And they all lived happily ever after.

Unless you're a Regina fan, this is a horrible finale
Disney1522 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I hate being negative about this show, because I've been a fan of it for years. I've really enjoyed all of S7 except for this finale. That's one of the reasons I didn't like it. It's completely disconnected from the season

The characters this season were supposed to be about: Henry, Ella, and Lucy did not have any lines at all

Emma, Snow, and Charming's returns just felt like "We have to be here because it's the finale"

Wish Henry forgiving Regina, hugging her, and calling her "Mom" is the stupidest thing and makes no sense. Regina never even even apologized to him.

Imagine: Someone came into your house, kidnapped and killed your family, then left you alone. Years later, you run into them again, they say "I didn't mean to kill your family. I can take you in as my own." Any rationals person would run for their lives after that.

Uniting the realms makes no sense at all. This season revealed there can be multiple different versions of the same realm. Does that mean there are thousands of different Alices', Cinderellas', Snow Whites' etc walking around Maine?

The ending montage did not include anything from S7.

We should have seen Emma, Hook, Snow and Charming with Henry, Ella, and Lucy.

We should have seen Wish Hook and Alice with Emma and Hook.

We already got a "Regina is accepted as Queen" ending for her in S6. Why did we need to spend the last 7 minutes of the show saying it again?

The best part of this finale was Rumple sacrificing himself for Wish Hook and reuniting with Belle, because it was the only part connected to this season.

Leaving on (mostly) a high
TheLittleSongbird28 December 2020
Expectations were quite mixed before watching "Leaving Storybrooke", not just Season 7's last episode but also the last ever episode of 'Once Upon a Time'. Some promising ideas here and season finales always picque interest when you want to see how it ends. Expectations lowered however after seeing and being underwhelmed by the penultimate episode "Homecoming", which felt like the first half of a two part finale and like the step in the right direction seen in "Is This Henry Mills" did not happen.

It is with great relief that "Leaving Storybrooke" was a great improvement and a worthy way to end Season 7 and 'Once Upon a Time', leaving on a high if you will. Very good if not exceptional in quality, improves on everything that disappointed in "Homecoming" and one of the top five Season 7 episodes along with "Beauty", "Wake Up Call", "Pretty in Blue" and "Is This Henry Mills". Also being one of the episodes of the season that came closest to evoking the spirit of prime-'Once Upon a Time'.

Even for an episode intended to tie things up and reunite characters, "Leaving Storybrooke" still perhaps has too many characters and for such a lot happening it feels too short and hurried. It would have done well being either feature length or a two parter, so that the things that were left hanging in the air were actually resolved.

Yet despite all that, "Leaving Storybrooke" still managed to have a story that was absorbing and much more coherent than most of the episodes of Season 7. A lot happens but it doesn't feel as bloated as before in the season. It has a good deal of intensity and delivers a lot on the emotional impact. Rumplestiltskin's final scene being one of the show's most moving moments, the single most moving moment of Season 7 and certainly the season's most moving moment since the whole of "Beauty".

Not just successful in the story development, but "Leaving Storybrooke" also had characters that were interesting and worth rooting for, even those that didn't do anything for me before didn't bother me anywhere near as much here. The chemistry between all is witty and also heartfelt, while there is less of the cheesiness and melodramatic dragged out soap-opera that passed for dialogue in most of the season. It looks good, nicely scored and directed and regarding the acting the most consistently good actors have not lost what was so sparkling about them, those that haven't been in the show for a long time are remarkably true to character and the usually weak actors were not too bad here.

In conclusion, a worthy way to end a show that was good to brilliant for five of its seven seasons but ran out of steam in the last two. 8/10

My childhood is over now
madalexasalv2 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I grew up with Once Upon a Time. It was a show that held so much nostalgia for me. When it was airing season 7, I watched about 6 episodes then stopped. I don't quite remember why, but most likely because I wasn't a fan of the new story lines.

About two months ago, I decided to rewatch the show in its entirety. Once I got to season 7, I still felt as though the new plot wasn't as good. I didn't care for the characters as much, but I wanted to stick through it and finish the show. I'm so glad I did.

I was was genuinely concerned as to whether or not everything would end well and keep a good pace in 43 minutes. However, this ending was everything I could have ever hoped for.

All of the best parts of this episode came back to Rumple and Regina. It was bittersweet seeing Rumple join Belle in death. He died a hero (which I never expected really) and Regina's monologue at his death weighed heavily on me.

Regina as a character has been through so much, it really made me sad that she had to go through one more loss before getting her happily ever after. I couldn't have written a better way for it to go though.

When Regina was crowned The Good Queen, I broke down crying. She finally redeemed herself in the eyes of her people, and her speech at the end made me realize that my childhood was officially over. (It has definitely been over for many years now though) I cried for all of the beloved characters, and this was a perfect goodbye to Once Upon a Time. A beautiful show that I will never be able to thank enough for nurturing my childhood fantasies.

Living in Storybrooke
aybaraka26 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The feeling I have for every character and every story is so deep and real. A long way with a lot of memories, laughs, and tears.

At the end of the previous episode, once they showed the trees at the entrance of Storybrooke, I immediately knew this place. I couldn't wait to see everyone.

Seeing every corner in Storybrooke, seeing Archie, Grumpy, Granny, everyone, seeing Mr. Gold's shop, Granny's diner, was priceless. You feel so connected with everything. We lived within all the adventures.

I am in tears right now saying Thank you everyone who made this journey possible!

Thank you Regina, Rumple, Snow, Charming, Emma, Hook, Henry. Thank you everyone!

EMMA IS THE MAIN CHARACTER NOT REGINA!
Lyraadams22 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this episode but this whole season has been a let down. Since the beginning Emma has been the main character and obviously she has been away for most of the season she should still be the focus point of the end.
