The video, and the soft sound in the background, is very artistic. A man drowning inside his own helmet is a reflection of the inability to help one's self.

A melancholic sound followed by the almost sleepy voice of Thom Yorke. He's also the main star of the video, where a massive and long take close-up of his face inside of a helmet takes over the whole foreground. Slowly, water starts to enter the helmet and little by little Thom is drowning inside of it.

An almost abstract yet significant image starts to form from this surreal concept of a man drowning himself inside of a helmet, with some minor time to breathe when the water starts to reduce inside of it. When I say abstract it's because it doesn't have much to do with the poetical lyrics from the group, I sense that "No Surprises" relates to something else, deeper and more meaningful. However, the sad notes and sounds reflect a lot about the images we are given, and for that and more I consider this as one of Radiohead's most memorable and artful clips they ever did. A moment to not be missed, specially if you're into the group, this song and specially if you like conceptual artistic videos. 10/10.
