I did not think Delicious was good enough to return for a second series, but here it is. I guess writer Dan Sefton has a strong enough reputation to warrant continued faith by Sky television.

Dead chef Leo Vincent (Iain Glen) still provides the narration. We left the first series with rivals Dawn French and Emilia Fox having to work together to make their swish Cornish hotel/restaurant to succeed.

The show kicks off with Gina (French) and Sam (Fox) still bickering even though the Penrose Hotel is a success. Gina's estranged and roguish father Joe (Franco Nero) shows up ill after a bizarre accident. Gina does not want him a round but you can bet he sticks about. After all he is Franco Nero and the 'D' is silent!

Gina's and Leo's depressed daughter Teresa (Tanya Reynolds) is getting treatment from a therapist but thinks he might be abusing her.

The main plot of the episode was the hotel was trying to please a tycoon businesswoman for her daughter's wedding. It seems Sam had a one night stand with the groom a few days earlier. The question was whether she should tell the bride.

This was rather a stodgy pudding.
