Brutal honesty
Coralknight3 June 2018
There were several sad truths which manifested themselves in this very bleak but poignant short; 1) Cultures that are the most sexually repressed tend to turn to drugs and alcohol 2) The more someone has to hide in plain sight, the more of a propensity for an eventual melt-down...especially when plain sight is actually the limelight/public eye 3) Despite any/all "warning signs", unless we take a conscious look at the person next to us, we will probably miss them, since most humans have a propensity towards only looking after ourselves. Well done, if not a bit predictable and dated (even in the sports community, being gay isn't the end of a career anymore).

Two virtues define this short film : the profound honesty of story and Jack Parr in the lead role. and the motif for the film is not real comfortable. because it did not the familiar recipe of genre. it is not a manifesto or a sad love story. it did not propose the usual drama. it represents just a precise portrait of a part from a delicate subject. and it did that in admirable manner. a film about vulnerability, inner demons and refuge. and bad choice. so, a real good film. its bitter taste remains, for long time in memory.
