Solid episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Urban Transport Planning is another solid episode for season six. More of a character development episode. Phil is becoming more American, and a capitalist with the travel agency. I wonder if Henry will have to come home for private school if Phil goes broke. What will Henry face at home? Phil is understanding the changing time in the U S S R, while Liz is extreme in trying to stop it. Liz is crueler, harsher, and hateful. Phil wants a normal life for the kids, while Paige might break under Liz's pressure. Stan shows the F B I is more than surveillance and gun play. Dealing with the marital problems of the Soviets handlers is too much. Stan must face Olav in a realistic face to face of betrayal. Urban Transport Planning give insight to the faces in the spy games. Nine out of ten stars.

I Missed the 80s (Until Now).

I had to give the episode nine stars because I'm still hooked like it's meth, but MAN, it's painful watching Ma 'n Pa Jennings spiral downward. Elizabeth's 25 years of PTSD turning her into a chain-smoking murder bot is bad enough - forget her going Full Metal Crawford "coaching" Paige - but Philip turn into a nattily dressed @$$hole sales boss is too much to bear. He's gonna start actuating his potential any minute now. PUT THE CAR PHONE DOWN, PHIL

At least Stan is steady and constant. He's a steady, constant big dumb lump of wet paper towel, but he IS dependable that way.

If character IS destiny, then there's a real mass-casualty Greek tragedy of an outcome building here - but it's too easy. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Another strong episode with Keri Russell on top form
snoozejonc25 March 2021
Elizabeth reflects on the previous mission and Phillip ways up a tough decision.

This again is not what I would describe as an enjoyable episode but it is very well made with a number of powerful and memorable scenes.

Watching Elizabeth's continued blinkered attitude of the Cold War and idealistic view of the old Soviet system is infuriating yet still compelling to watch. Her interactions with Paige are especially difficult moments and likewise with Phillip. It all feels like it's heading down a very tragic path, particularly with her body count rising by the episode. The big hook for me is finding out what Phillip will do about it.

Interestingly Phillips's love affair with the American dream is showing signs of stalling and this is hinted at in a number of cringeworthy, awkward scenes involving work and money. My girlfriend pointed out that whether they are working in pursuit of successful capitalism or communist ideals, the pair of them seem a lot less effective apart than they are together.

There is a lot more going on in the sub-plots of this episode with Stan involved in a number of very good scenes.

As ever the production values are top-drawer and the performances, particularly from Keri Russell are all superb.

For me this is an 8.5/10 but I round upwards.

Anachronism

Good episode, but I thought this is as good a place as any to mention that this series, as careful as it is usually is with the 80s period set decor, has never gotten one thing right--

The walls in most houses in the 80s were BEIGE. Cream, off-white, eggshell, sand.. whatever you want to call it. Each room wasn't painted a different tasteful dark color like you find now. The colorful walls is what you see in the show in all the houses and even in the hotel rooms which REALLY would be beige. I'm assuming it's an art department decision to set different moods, but it takes me out of the show often.

There. Off my chest. Good show 😁

Glad It's almost over

I'm glad i'm almost done with this series. It's good, but like most shows that run too long, i've had enough and especially enough of Keri Russell. I was hoping the dude would have shot her right in the face when he had the chance. Talk about a c@N%. I'm still hoping by the end that someone puts a bullet in her brain. Doubt that will happen because we all know Hollywood and how they really feel about evil America. The same as the Russian's did and do.

Warning: Spoilers
I am going to continue to be the guy who gives this show low score reviews because I enjoy it, but I just do not see the hype. Philip and his antics at the travel agency are funny, but comedic highlights should not be the best part of an episode of this show. The story is just weak and Paige quickly becoming a Russian spy is too absurd to believe.
