Ratings for this shows third season have been low. Consistent, but low. That meant that many went into this finale episode thinking it would be the last time they saw Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon play the iconic characters of Oscar and Felix.
There are some lovely moments in this episode, that lead all fans to scream "see, it's good!", but for whatever reason big numbers of people aren't watching. Personally I think its miles better than most of what passes for comedy these days.
The ending works both ways, as a set up for a potential season four, and if needed an overall finale. CBS aren't giving anything away, but Matthew Perry has hinted otherwise.
I hope it's not goodbye though. Even if it were to come back as a mid season replacement it would be better than nothing.
