A insightful documentary about the people of Kashmir, a land disputed by 3 different countries (Pakistan, India, and China). The film follows artists, musicians, and poets that live or came from Kashmir and speak their mind about how they have coped with the violence and oppression they've dealt with living in this region. There's a particular scene with a rapper from Kashmir which talks about why he relates to hip hop and mentions that the people of Kashmir and the African American population have both dealt with being sold off as slaves and dealt with police brutality, and that really struck home for me. Even if you're not familiar with Kashmir, this documentary is easy to follow and feeds the information to you slowly but surely, so I've definitely left this documentary feeling enlightened. Maybe I could of used just a little bit more backstory of Kashmir but this'll do.
