After two all things considered, ok series, where they have been testing different formulas and segments, it seems like they have found that magical balance of cars and comedy that made Top Gear such a phenomenal show. You can really tell that they listen to the fans' feedback after every series. This really has the potential to be the best series of the already grand, Grand Tour!

Great to have them back

It is great to have them back. It is also great that you there is no celebrity section which spoilt Season 2 when it took up about a quarter of the show. Let's hope that there is no celebrity section for the rest of the series.
The Perfect Start

I am very happy that, they listened to us, i don't want to listen to the interviews of non car people, i want all the action, i want to watch cars and great car journalists, that's it. so that's what they did in first episode and i am very glad.

This is a great start to what I am sure will be the greatest season so far. The laughs and jokes in this episode are comming through in a completely fluent and natural manner. I am turely delighted to see the trio finally getting into pace and become who they are meant to be.
Great. Pleased they are back....proper car show

An incredible release for those of us with gasoline running through our veins. For that matter, who wouldn't love big shiny noisy things intermixed with the best reviewers of automobiles ever put together in one place, good stuff.
Just brilliant!

The boys are back with a bang. Phenomenal first episode, loved every bit of it. Had all the right ingredients; banter, action, comedy, thrill. And you got to admire the fact that they listen to their fans after every season. "Brilliant, just Brilliant" (In Clarkson's voice)
Underwhelming

Warning: Spoilers
This was an excellent season 3 opener by jeremy and the boys, with the ford mustang RTR standing for ready to rock driven by Jeremy clarkson that cost 40 grand and had 720 horsepower.
James may was in the Chevy camaro called the excorsit tuned by Hennessey to 1000 horsepower with no work on the brakes or bodywork just the engine.
richard hammond drove the dodge demon an 840 horsepowehr monster and showed some off it feature in the final shootout overall a good show highlight been the sound check in henry ford original plant.
Really in their stride now

Welcome back

A more relaxed episode going with some freshened up old gags and routines. Detroit never looked worse. Clarkson in the McLaren Senna was a little too gushy in praise in a quick review, nice to see it's great lap time on the test track. All in all a fun show.

I have watched all the Top Gear shows as well as the Grand Tour. In general, they can be fun and interesting. I can't think of a time they've so abjectly infuriated me, however, as this episode. It's not funny that our country is falling apart, and it is DEFINITELY not a joke that Detroit is a heartbreaking example of what can happen to a once-great city. One of the best things going for Detroit right now are the incentivized reinvestments of those looking to bring it back to civilized living standards through community gardens, active renewal of historic homes, and small businesses and artisans who can enjoy Detroit because the cost of living is low. To see them drag race down public streets because "haha, this city is so pathetic there's no one with cars here, what a laugh!" viscerally disgusts me. Driving over vegetable gardens? Honestly, it's disgusting. I'm not saying Grand Tour needs to be The Great British Baking Show; I'm saying they could highlight and show some sympathy toward a once-great city that is rotting away. They could bring awareness to the plight. I thought we were getting close when they were in the theater and looking at those who had played there, until Hammond was like, "ah, this historic and beautiful property is now a multi-level parking garage. How beautiful and poetic."
No. It's not poetic. It's a tragedy for history and the people still trying to eke it out in the city.
I don't watch these shows looking for grand enlightenment. I watch it for fun. But this was far from fun. It was coarse, destructive, and honestly downright hateful at times. A terrible episode of a show that could stand a tiny bit more circumspection in their locations and treatment of the people and history of those locations.
