Beyond bad!
mymachinedomination5 April 2016
This "movie" is an absolute disgrace to humanity, it has no storyline, the characters are as basic as they can get, the argument has no background or even the most superficial research done for it, the photography borders on retarded for its literalness, all the cast is talentless when it comes to acting, it portrays the LGBTTTQI community as a caricature and talks about the Mexican adopting system as if it worked like a pet shop, there is no connection between the dialogue and the argument, every single line against gay marriage has a religious basis and the director didn't even try to make interesting scenery with it, I could go on and on. This is just a visceral response from a Christian fanatic to gay marriage approval in Mexico City, amateur would be an unworthy compliment.

Worse than you could ever imagine.

Paco del Toro is a religious man. His entire filmography is all about the "society problems", he try to express the best way to live without them (usually with Jesus). Whel, even if you are trying to express a religious you as he did it, you can create a great film. The problem in this movie is how Paco del Toro is unqualified to share what he think. He is always trying to humiliate, because he could not find the way to do it without the "humillation". It's complicated to see all the technical supports, like the cinematography or the edition, they just not there. Del Toro is just a man without any art skills.

I will start by saying that there is no plotline so there is no way for me to spoil any events of this movie. The entire movie is random sequences and subplots that are in no way related to each other or have any bearing on the rest of the movie. The entire cast acts very stereotypically gay which makes the movie very hard to take seriously. Apart from that there are several very disturbing scenes in which a child is depicted playing with used sex toys, distributing gay pornography at his elementary school, watching gay pornography with his parents and his cousin, and then having sex with his cousin all of which are very unnecessary to the plot and hard to watch. There is also a very weird subplot about one of the child's gay uncles being very creepy and borderline molesting him which also goes nowhere. Nothing in this story goes anywhere or has any cohesive effect on any of the characters. Also the cuts make no sense for example the main character goes from being alive and well to dead in a hospital and then back to being alive at a party within like 20 seconds with no explanation or context. Basically the entire movie is like this which makes it impossible to follow anything. The only good parts were the scenes where green screen windows were left unedited in the final cut of the film which was really funny. I am only giving this movie a 1 because I gave 3 Idiotas a 0 and nothing is worse than 3 Idiotas but this movie is a close second. I can see why it is banned in Mexico. This was 1 and a half hours of my life I will never get back. Unfortunately, Rajesh does not recommend.

hilarious comedy
sugarfreepeppermint23 April 2017
Even though this film was intended as a vehicle against gay marriage and the adoption of children by gay persons, it is actually a hilarious comedy where the actors are hamming it up to portray some of the most outrageous gay stereotypes and delivering deliciously irreverent fun chat between queens. There are a few sermons by evangelical types which are so ridiculously awful, that it is actually highly comedic. The main actor of the film, Pablo Cheng, is a fantastic actor, and his interaction with the child actor who plays the adopted kid is a lot of fun to watch. They must have had such a good time whilst filming this movie; it would make any kid want to have gay adoption parents. The scenes with his camp friends, and the soap opera like love story with his partner, also are highlights of this film. It is thanks to the fact that it is anti gay propaganda, that this comedy goes to the extreme situations where a LGBT approved film wouldn't dare to go anymore. And that's the strength of this film, a modern day Mexican, Cage aux Folles. To become a cult classic in the future for sure.
